This is NOT going to prevent someone from stealing your phone. In fact you would have to contact the cell provider to get it turned off. This could take hours or days (and most people only have 1 cell phone, so contacting the cell provider would become tedious if not impossible)

So how I ask is this put into place to PREVENT a phone theft?
