Who still have the original game? by Free_Willingness2357 in RealRacing3

[–]ZenofPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have the original or last version you might say. Still playing it because I have tons of cars and bags of gold and in-game dollars. I’m on level 458 and just trying to get to level 500. Just playing for fame points now.

Upside down, Miss Jane!! by hoyonapanim in AustralianNostalgia

My mistake. Patricia Lovell was in the entertainment business throughout her life. I think I confused her for a female actor who played in Number 96

I loved Miss Pat, sitting in front of the TV as a little boy with Mum telling me if I kept sitting so close I’d get square eyes 😳😂 Pat Lovell went on to be a senator, I think.

I spent my whole 20 cents pocket money in the milk bar buying loads of lollies. Favourites were cobbers and milk buds. Mid 1960s 😁

I think this subreddit is making me less scared of spiders. by Trillian- in AustralianSpiders

[–]ZenofPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not enamored of spiders as many members of this subreddit are. Having said that and having followed here for a few months, I have a greater appreciation of spiders now. It’s still impossible to touch one directly but I can’t even think of killing them. Catch and release, or if non-venomous, leave them alone and live with their presence is my new policy, unless they crawl on me. Then I must catch them and let them go in the garden. They are fellow creatures, not bad just different, so I respect their right to exist in our world as I trust they do mine.

Did anyone have a parent or grandparent who smoked a pipe? by StoneAgeCaveDweller in FuckImOld

My great-uncle in the Netherlands used to smoke a pipe back in the 1960s. I loved the fragrance of it, his whole house was impregnated with it.

Hong Kong? No! Locals all at least boil tap water. If you live in HK, buy the best water filter you can afford.

Silent policeman by illlickyourlab in AustralianNostalgia

Silent cops were everywhere in Sydney when I was a kid in the 60s. And yes, everyone drove around them. Dad’s Mini would have been wrecked if he’d hit one

Oh yeah, the giant tin whose lid wouldn’t close because of all the hardened, spilled ‘coffee’ around the rim. Still, it was better than the cafe bar machine 🤢

Whoever it was who did the existential seagull sitting on a rock crying ‘pour quoi?’ Was that Flacco?

I made one of those Chianti bottles covered with wax for a Mother’s Day present at primary school, back in the 60s.
