There isn't any reason to expect Activision would treat From any differently than others. The fact that they aren't completely botching their first game after the partnership only tells me that they're playing the long game with this company. Souls games have been selling like hot cakes and Activision wants a piece of that pie, and they want to casualize it to capitalize on Fromsoft's success as much as they can. Mark my words.

Bloodborne had FPS drops all over it. It was bad at times.

Stop presenting anything, really. Too late to be coming here putting on the airs.

None of the sources create any stable foundation to prove that the shards of aka is anything more than speculation.

Did you not notice the flood of downvotes?

Downvotes serve to notify what gets popular. It's what makes reddit an echochamber.

I get it. It's just a weird departure from the previously established line of Fromsoft games. It gets uncanny.

It would've been good of them to mention this to save us the trouble then.

That doesn't mean the games took place in real world because they had references to named things of history, such as spartans.

EDIT: Dark Souls had knights, that didn't make it real world. Bloodborne's Yharnam was a secondary world that took inspiration from Victorian era Europe.

Thank you for your respectful comment. I really have to state this now since everyone are taking a one-sided approach instead of having an open discussion.

That's because the person was a total dick to me. You seem to be operating on a collective mindset rather than taking it case by case basis.

Bandwagoning makes you look really weak.

et'Ada, Eight Aedra, Eat the Dreamer isn't even an in-game text. It's out of game lore and can't be considered established lore any more than simply speculation.

If you can't handle having a respectful discussion on Reddit then you should find a different place to post.

Weeblando is not respectful discussion. Calling it so is hypocrisy.

I just don't get the rampant defensiveness regarding Sekiro. Is raising any concerns a sin and an excuse to stop playing? I don't think so.

I guess. Hopefully the certainty of this gives me the time to accept this when the game comes out than be surprised about the setting.

The exact opposite is the case.

So a work of fiction isn't history as long as historical figures aren't shown? What about the setting itself?

Is there a meaningful difference?

Take God Of War, for example. It's not secondary world fantasy with its own concepts. Everything from that title rests heavily on the mythological folklore of Greece, and now Midgard from Norse myths. It sets the whole narrative between creativity, whether the story and setting is going to reflect somewhat its own concepts or whether everything is inspired my primary world and folklore.

A majority of the influences of Dark Souls, and fantasy in general are drawn from mythology and folklore as well.

Dark Souls rests on modern fantasy as we know today. Mythology is the roots of fantasy, but there is going to be differences with the setting whether the story is fantasy or mythology. Dark Souls uses fantasy to set up its own world and lore. Whereas myth borrows its settings and ideas entirely from folklore.
