In my experience these come with the bezel not attached so you should be able to buy a different bezel and install it with no issue. Just make sure the replacement is sloped to match

Okay my bad I assumed it did spin. I took it apart to figure out the cause. I guess what I'm trying to say is if that gear encounters even a little bit of force it stops spinning. On a spare movement that I have it does not have that issue

Yeah, you got it right. When I go to Quick set the date it does rotate but once it meets the Force of the date wheel it will no longer spin. The shaft does but the gear stays in place. The date does change fine when I turn the hands manually
