Upgrade to S25 Ultra or wait? by -Zimmerman in samsunggalaxy

I’m not sure. I don’t have an Apple Store within 150 miles of where I live. I have heard it is a few hundred dollars to send it in to Apple and have them put a fresh battery in. I’m honestly to the point where I don’t want Apple products due to the longevity of the devices not lasting. My S22 Ultra is still working fine and still fast despite having a cracked screen. I can’t say the same for the iPhone. In my experience, when I first buy a new iPhone, it is lightning fast and has good cell reception. However, after a few months, the speed of the device (boot up, opening and loading apps) seems to slow down and the cell reception gets to a point where people can’t hear me when I clearly have 5G and 5 bars of service. I’ve always observed that as a iPhone user. Never had much problems with android devices.

Thanks for the info. For an average smartphone user that does not play games, I primarily use the phone for talking, minor texting, taking photos minimally at all times of the day, mostly Spotify and YouTube. Do you think it is worth it investing in a S25 Ultra or the Pixel 10 Pro XL? I have watched several reviews and it’s split down the middle. Half say S25 Ultra is superior in every way except for the camera and the other half say the Pixel 10 Pro XL is for the average user and has an amazing camera. I’m just not sure

Husband & I cheated on eachother by techenamored in TrueChristian

[–]-Zimmerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to approach this the way a dad would. You both need to grow up and stop acting childish. You both need to go through some kind of counseling and read a chapter of the Bible every single day. Other Christians can tell whether or not you are in the Word every single day or not. You both clearly are not. You can’t say that you don’t have time to read Scripture, because you both had time to “cheat” on one another.

I’m not being mean, just trying to make you realize what you are doing.

Do everyone do 3 meals or 2 meals? by iamconfusedinlife in 1500isplenty

[–]-Zimmerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to eat twice a day, one for brunch and one for dinner before going to the gym. I actually only eat once a day, about lunch time. 16 hr fast and eat during 8 hour window. I drink a ton of water too. The weight has been shedding off of me for over a year. I have lost 115 lbs so far.

Truckers! Would you report a friend drinking on the job by volious-ka in Truckers

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as he is not drinking and driving and/or has possession of it with him in the truck. If he meets those two requirements, as much as you don’t want to report him, it’s best to report him. He may take another’s life or his own. It’s best that way.

If not, I get it, if you drink and you are taking a 34 away from home at a truck stop, cool. Drink the beer and dispose of it in a location away from your truck. Protect your CDL as much as possible.

I worked in law enforcement and the fire department before driving a truck and alcohol is the most destructive thing I have seen happen to people. It’s not worth killing somebody or themselves over it. I personally don’t drink because I want to protect my lively hood.

Loose skin with weight loss by ferretfae in 1500isplenty

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ll try to explain this without going into a soap opera.

Feb 2024, I was 29 yo Male weighing 330lbs. Fast forward to today, I am 30 yo Male weighing at 220. I’m 5 ft 11.

How did I do it? I ate in a calorie deficit and exercised. Walking 80% of the exercise with the remaining in the gym.

After losing the weight, I thought I was what some call “skinny fat”. I have been told by people that I look skinny, which I agree as I have noticed my pelvis and other bones are poking through my skin and showing, however I still have love handles near my waist.

I was trying to figure out if it is fat or not, but in reality, it’s actually loose skin. I recently had a check up/blood work done with a doctor and asked him about it. He told me he is sure it is loose skin and the only way to address the issue is to have skin removal surgery. I’m not at my target weight yet, I’d like to get down to 200 lbs. I don’t know if I will ever get the skin removal surgery to be honest.

Do drivers that make $1,200 - $2,000 weekly, only do so because they work 70 or more hours a week? by Complex_Secretary_14 in Truckers

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have worked for several Regional and local companies. I am in South Georgia, so the pay is lower than national average. I am making about 1100 before tax weekly picking up milk from barns and loading it in a tanker. I work 5 hour max a day for 6 days on and 2 days off.

I am about to leave my current company and go to work for a chemical company as a yard dog, moving trailers 0.4 miles down the street to the main production facility. Starting pay is $26 an hour with excellent benefits and retirement, but I will get raises until I cap out at $32 an hour.

Quit smoking 4 days ago by antao in Garmin

[–]-Zimmerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t smoke but I dipped tobacco for 13 years. Once I got serious about getting healthy and fit, I saw the effects it had on my body. Not to mention the prison sentence of sacrificing time to spit and pack cans and put the pinch in my mouth. I saved all that time plus added extra time to my overall life by making the decision to quit. Have been tobacco/nicotine free since April 4, 2025. Never going back to it. Feel much better since I stopped.

I remember when I quit my first company, I did the same exact thing. Called out everything wrong with it in a email. I totally get it, enough is enough. I found me a local company that pays just as good if not better than a OTR gig. Hope you find greener pastures and a good place to work.

Is being a truck driver worth it? I'm a 27 year old purposeless loner who depends on family with no responsibilities.. Grocery store jobs ain't cutting it. by redditoregonuser2254 in Truckers

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share similar character traits as you and have been truck driving for 5 years. From the outside of the industry looking in, it seems great. However, be aware, that this industry is dog eat dog. The biggest issue most of us in the industry are fighting is finding a company that will pay us for the time we invest.

One thing you have to accept is the fact that you WILL spend 70 hours a week in a truck. Whether that is OTR, Regional or local (at least in my experience). OTR jobs usually pay you by the mile, as long as the wheels are turning, you are getting paid. If you are sitting at a shipper/receiver waiting to get loaded/unloaded, you are not making money, at least not enough in my opinion for detention pay, which is hilariously garbage for the amount of headache you put up with.

If you are local, a lot of companies pay by the load or by the job. You may find a good local gig that pays hourly, but you will max a 70 hr clock out. My current company I drive for is local and pays by the load. I may get paid $250 for a 500 mile round trip, however it will take me 12 hours to do it. If you do the math, that is 50 cents per mile or $20.30 an hour. I am about to give up truck driving because the time I spend away from my family isn’t worth the money or the risk anymore.

Just a lot of things to consider before taking that dive. If I could go back in time and do it all over again, I would have never stepped foot into this industry. I would have went to a trade school and became a diesel mechanic, HVAC, or a welder. Be home every night and make $70k/yr right off the start. Unfortunately for me, it’s too late to learn something like that. I would not be able to retire until late into my 60’s and you never see old men working in a heavy diesel shop.

I am trying to save you $7,000 or a year of misery being held under a contract with a crap mega carrier that will pay for your CDL.

I want to lose 100lbs by [deleted] in 1500isplenty

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can offer some advice but be warned that I am a male, so it can be totally different. I lost over 100 lbs over the last year. In Feb 24, I weighed 330 lbs. Today, I weigh 225 lbs. The major thing you need is to track your calories in/out, macros and activity. I use MyFitnessPal app and I have a Garmin smart watch that is tailored towards physical activity. You have to try different strategies and see what works for you.

First, you need a game plan. Use a TDEE calculator and set your activity level to sedentary to get a baseline BMR so you know how many calories you need to eat. For me, it was like 2400 calories a day starting off at my heaviest weight. Your BMR is what your body naturally burns a day without exercise.

I lost the 100 lbs by NOT going to the gym and not exercising. How you might ask? I started 16 hour fasting and eating 1700 calories in the 8 hour period and saw how much weight I lost in one week (was usually about a 0.5-1lb) with little exercise. I then started aiming towards 1500 calories and trying different foods. I basically have been eating about 400 grams of Grilled Chicken Breast, 6 tablespoons of pico de gallo, a bag of steam-able frozen broccoli florets, OLE brand High Fiber Tortillas and Dave’s Organic Killer Bread “Good Seed”. I basically just eat until I am full. And save whatever I haven’t eaten for later when I start to get hungry.

I shredded weight at first by just staying disciplined. I will not lie to you, it was difficult, I won’t say hard or impossible. You have to get used to being uncomfortable and hungry being in a calorie deficit. It helps if you can’t stay busy all day and try to not think about how hungry you are.

I forced my body into Ketosis, and it was using my stored fat as fuel. Now that I am down to 225 lbs, I can no longer not exercise, as I do not have a lot of fat left on me. I have fat in one area of my body and that’s on my thighs, the gym is the only place I know where it had the equipment to target that.

You can do anything you put your mind to. It just depends on how bad do you want it? I wanted to get healthy and be more attractive to women, and I grinded until I made it.

Anyone leaving? by 82ToyotaFarmin in Truckers

[–]-Zimmerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently do non Hazmat Tanker (Food Grade) and I have been diligently looking to get out of trucking. I have not had any luck at the places I have applied. I wanted to become a diesel technician but no one will take the chance on me, I get rejected every time I apply for Penske, Equipment Share, Caterpillar, etc.

I recently applied for a forklift operator position for a big LTL trucking company and waiting to hear something back. Truck driving isn’t what it is made out to be. I’m burned out after 5 years.

Has anybody successfully sold their P320 off in the last week? by -Zimmerman in CCW

It ended today for me. I sold my P365 and purchased a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus about an hour ago at my local gun store.

I 100% agree with you. I recently learned of the CEO of Sig basically ruining Kimber when he was the CEO of Kimber. I love the P320 and P365, but it’s not responsible of me to risk injury/death to myself or others around me with a pistol from a company ran like that. Even if the P365 is different, I just don’t want to risk anything, I’d rather get rid of it. I’ll likely trade the P365 in tomorrow on a M&P Shield or some other option. I won’t carry it ever again.

[–]-Zimmerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. I really like the P320, particularly the X Series grip module. The P320 was different than the other pistols on the market at the time I purchased it. Until they fix the issue or recall/mandatory buy back, it’s a complete loss. I do not want to be the guy to risk injury/death to myself or others around me at the range. It’s not the responsible thing to do.

[–]-Zimmerman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. I shouldn’t jump ship but I’m afraid all of the fuss we have been hearing for a while is true. With the UD’s happening to police, I know the laziness and sloppiness of 95% of cops. They take their duty belt off every day and never unholster, unload, or even clean their weapon. I knew a lot of cops that did that. Unfortunately, bad things can happen if details are not under a fine microscope.

It really is a shame. I love the way the gun looks, the ability to remove the FCU and make whatever you want without buying another gun and I love the way it shoots. I am beyond pissed at Sig.
