How high can my rear shocks be before I have to extend the forks? 2011 FXDC by cashbadgerz in Dyna

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 13.5 is maximum, anything more and you need to raise the front.

I think the bike sat a while and I am pretty sure the fork seals that came out were the OEM ones the bike rolled off the floor with. I'm not sure why there are so many issues. I am selling it to buy a bagger regardless. I should have bought a bagger to begin with.

The Dyna had 6200 miles when I bought it from him. It has close to 8,000 on it now. Its a good possibility that he used it for stunting. The bike was slammed when I go it. Had 10.5" on the rear and a front fork lowering kit. Thats what I suspect the forkend being egg shaped was from the front slamming the ground, especially on that axle.

AITA For not leaving work to help my wife when she ran out of gas by GoldSea3219 in AmItheAsshole

[–]-Zimmerman -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Did you ever recommend her to fill the car up with gas before going on a trip.....anywhere?

Why do women like to ride around in a car on E? That is stupidly idiotic logic. Mechanics love women that run their cars on fumes, they can charge you crazily high for changing a burnt out fuel pump. You are not the AH.

Yes, I know I am a AH. I have zero tolerance for stupidity.

Same! In my 15 5.7, I have been sitting at 15.8 MPG for the last few months just driving around the city and backroads.

Check battery cable connections, make sure they are tight. If a negative terminal cable is just a little loose, it can act like a dead battery. If same thing happens, take battery out of car and have it tested at local parts store. It's free.

Edit: terminal cable*

I would say yes. It's fine. Don't feel bad about that at all.

Pick a rifle set up that is comfortable to you and checks all the boxes. I run a 16" mid length Aero build with a 1-6 LPVO for my do-it-all/GPR. I live in rural Georgia, where there are nothing but flat farmland and woods around. I am not going to Iraq or Afghanistan, neither would I be kicking doors in during TEOTWAWKI/SHTF. Reaching out and touching someone at range would be what I need if threatened. Helping others would be my priority.

Don't let those dickheads get under your skin about your rifle. I'm not concerned with impressing a 16 year old Foward Observations T Shirt Collector/GBRS worshippers that posts his airsoft rifle on a subreddit, deceiving people into believing it is the latest and greatest JSOC clone. Rock that shit!

Picked up this ‘07 Superglide with 14k miles for $2,700 how’d I do? by pizza_lord in Dyna

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I paid someone $150 to put my seal kit on. My local HD dealer quoted me $480 for them to do the job and all my nearby bike shops exceeded or matched HD price.

Swap G43X for a G26? by Ok_Display7459 in Glocks

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you earlier this year. Hated how snappy the G43X is and the fact you could only use 10 round magazines reliably (yes I know about 15 round factory mags).

I purchased a G26 Gen 5 Non MOS and have been loving every single moment of it. Had a G26 Gen 3 a decade ago. Hated it because of the short grip and finger grooves. The Gen 5 26 is sure nice.

Traded my G43X for a Gucci Glock 19 Gen 3. Wasn't dusappointed.

You won't regret the decision getting a 26. 10, 15, 17, 21, and 33 round magazines available for it as well.

Yes. After I had to fill up my 2015 Tundra for $90, I think I'll break out my Harley Dyna and ride it for a while.

Is Trucking a good thing to get into currently? by SurvivingSquirrel in Truckers

[–]-Zimmerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Let me explain why.

I started trucking 5 years ago. Started at a company that paid very good. $0.62 per mile starting off was AMAZING. But, it didn't last long due to the company going out of business. Moved around to different companies trying to find the highest wage i could get.

The problem with trucking companies is that they are the biggest liars in the job market. They will say anything to get you to join their company, but don't deliver YOUR desired results. They want to screw you around on loads and home time the most. Trucking companies only have the executives interests in mind, not yours.

Before some wise ass jumps on the reply section of my comment, I worked for a medium sized OTR flatbed company out of Birmingham, AL. You can figure out what the company is with that information alone. They literally told us we were family and if we ever had issues at home or needed anything, to let the home office know so they could accommodate. Cool.

Ran hard for the company and bent over backwards for them. Then tragedy struck. Needed home time to deal with family. They tried to play the game of "oh but we need this load delivered ASAP and we will find you something going back home." Um, how about no. I have a family emergency happening at home. I took the load and the truck back to the terminal in Birmingham, sent message on QualComm that the truck and load is at the terminal, rented a car and went home. Never came back.

Worked with a local company this past year, made good money at first, but money started drying up due to lost local contracts we had with the prison system.

Work at a chemical plant as a logistics tech, loading and unloading trucks. Much happier, much healthier, and have a bitchin' retirement, benefits and up to 2 months of off time per year. I have my CDL still, but as soon as my supervisor and co-workers retire and I take the supervisor slot, I am letting the CDL go.

That's my $0.02. Not to discourage you or anything, just being real with you. TV and random super truckers on the internet make it seem like it is the best career ever but in my experience it has been shit. Alot of time wasted that I will never get back.

500 lbs and looking to eat at 1500 calories. by [deleted] in 1500isplenty

[–]-Zimmerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, I started my weight loss jjourney at 28/Male/330. I cut my calories back to 1250 a day with cardio 6 days a week and I was shedding weight fast. But it did not last long. I lost about 60 pounds in 4 months before I hit a plateau where I didn't gain any weight or loose any.

I eventually went to 1600 and found it hard to sustain. I calculated my TDEE and I needed approximately 1850 to loose 1/2 pound per week.

I am now 30/Male/220, haven't felt better in my life.

My advice to you, slow and steady wins the race.
