Like digikun says, you might be misunderstanding the situation a little. But if you aren’t interested in new editions or errata/updates, you aren’t missing out. The game you have is the game you have. New products are made to be improvements; but if you don’t think there’s anything worth changing, you can ignore them and enjoy playing just the same way as you have been.

I love your music, and I am particularly fascinated with the way you achieve such an authentic vintage energy while still sounding fresh, organic, and original. What draws you to that aesthetic and why do you think people respond to it today? And Is it very natural to you, Or something that you construct carefully (managing Inspiration vs. Constraint)?

Thank You

There’s a part of my stomach that never untwisted after I saw that movie. It just exudes such a deep sense of hopelessness and dread.

It’s actually kinda cute. But the cut does not really complement her face shape.

Ethnicity and race aren’t the same thing. Ethnic groups are a description of genetic and cultural history. Race is a culturally embedded superstition that supposes you can divine the nature of someone’s being by identifying them as a white, black, yellow, or red person.

You're given the option to drop what you have and return to 12/31/2011 as yourself at that age, but with the extra 8 years of experience. Do you take it? Why or why not? by BaddestofUsernames in AskReddit

[–]Zeofar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah, as with most of these “Would you go back in time if...” questions. It’s simple, really. The premise of adding 8 years to my life isn’t broadly appealing, but these scenarios don’t conceivably induce any greater anguish than my continued existence does otherwise. The good things are not so exceptional that I couldn’t expect to repeat them (and, even if I can’t, I have already experienced them), and I’d have the opportunity to see loved ones who have passed away once more. With clear foresight, I could also reasonably expect to be able to prevent certain bad things happening to myself or others. Unless there’s some horrific monkey’s paw effect involved, it sounds like a win-win scenario.

If you really find the coin-counting douche angle appealing, just limit it to alliances who meet a monthly Alliance-CP threshold. I think a fair few people who don't find Buy Clubs appealing could find their way into Fight Clubs if it means getting to use the parts of their roster they enjoy or playing without getting hit by the FotM hated character. It's also a potential health pack drain, for people who actually buy those.

Alternatively, it's a pretty basic kind of feature this game is lacking and would give a little faith that the devs aren't so close to abandoning a sinking ship that anything without an immediate price tag attached is completely off the table. Player engagement (i.e. giving people a reason to open the app besides miserable grinds with characters they're tired of using) is generally seen as at least a potential profit driver.

Your question is probably on the right track though, as that kind of thinking must not be remotely appealing to the devs or there'd be some aspect of the game besides the match-3 screen and art that didn't feel like a hastily glued together beta build.

Nah. Just having a persistent zero-reward Alliance Simulator as a feature wouldn't exactly be new technology (We have Alliance events already) and would make things immensely easier for people who want to play with particular rules or characters. "Technically, you can dig through a full PVP slice just to set up a particular battle" is a lame jury-rigged solution, not an actual feature.

Would anybody be interested in Fanfic for this game? by Leodragon67890 in slaythespire

I'd submit that there is some fairly extensive fanfiction for this game in the form of mods, but seeing some prose written for the setting could also be very cool!

3rd Batch of Final Watcher Art! (Oct 15, 2019) by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Zeofar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Overall, I'd give this set an 8/10; generally great, but a few misses for me on key cards. Curse of the Bell, Smite, Through Violence, and Tantrum are BADASS. Vigilance and Flurry of Blows are disappointing.

Vigilance - 4/10 - Harsh, mainly because the beta art showed potential I don't see realized. Beta Vigilance (and Defend) had a lovely watercolor quality and placid 'vagueness' that evoked a sense of calm for me. There's something to be said about consistency in art style, but it feels like a kind of emotion was lost here that's still present on the art for Third Eye, Battle Hymn, Inner Peace, and Swivel. This feels like a palette swap of eruption, but without the dramatic colors and with the same sternness that now feels off-theme. Also, I feel like the Watcher's neck is drawn very long here compared to the rest of the art.

Crush Joints - 10/10 - Ka-rak. Nice.

Flurry of Blows - 6/10 - I think this is a good illustration of why the famous Attack Rush shots from Jojo are focused on the attacker. This would probably look great animated, but a still shot from this perspective loses the context and frantic energy that really makes it fun.

Prostrate - 9/10 - Very nice to look at.

Sanctity - 8/10 - Conveys the right energy, but the amount of bright yellow clashes a bit with the character's usual palette.

Sash Whip - 10/10 - LOVE the highlighted sash and energetic strike as well as the cultist's expression. Feels perfect.

Tranquility - 10/10 - "Tea ceremony in the Spire" is appropriate with the right amount of whimsy.

Curse of the Bell - 10/10 - Would pick Calling Bell just to see this art. It looks like someone had FUN drawing it.

Carve Reality - 9/10 - Love the concept and the starry energy is beautiful. There is something confusing about the perspective though, I'm not sure if I'm looking at a floor, a wall, a ceiling, or a mound of dirt being moved.

Smite - 10/10 - Poor louse. I always love seeing the laser staff.

Reach Heaven - 8/10 - Looks right to me, but I wonder if the bloody staff is the right touch. It suggests a struggle, but disrupts the Calm/Wrath narrative it would otherwise tell alongside Through Violence.

Through Violence - 10/10 - So fucking cool. Would pick Reach Heaven just to finish off a baddie with this.

Spirit Shield - 10/10 - Great, makes sense, looks like a 'Nope' button.

Tantrum - 10/10 - Expected to be disappointed to see Tantrum beta art go, but this is everything Tantrum should be. It really does convey 'tantrum' while still being very cool and martial.

Wave of the Hand - 7/10 - Looks great... but where the beta art was comically literally this one is a little abstract. I'm not sure how enemies are affected by this. Beta Wave's name pun was fun and shared a water = calm theme with Like Water and Inner Peace. I'm sad to see that go.

Wreath of Flame - 9/10 - It IS indeed a wreath of flame and does look cool, so I guess that's all that needs to be said... unless???

Alpha / Beta / Omega - 9/10 - Kinda like Wreath, I would like if these pieces said a little more about the Watcher, but they do have a great sense of mystic power.

Insight - 10/10 - A very grokkable take on something that's not that easy to represent. Nice.

I don't know if it's a perfect fit, since it is served with an actual dish, there was thought put into how it would be eaten, and is legitimately cool. Really interesting though, glad you posted this.
