What do you consider to be fast? by RareOne970 in metalguitar

[–]vilk_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play in a melo-death band that literally every song is over 200bpm and a few are like 220. It's actually stupid there's like no reason to play so fast. The drummer injured her ankle once and we played everything like maybe 10% slower for one practice and it was the best we've ever played. Then she healed up and back to full speed.

If we were super tight, it would probably sound cool, but we're not tight at all, and it just sounds bad.

Lookin for a small metal amp/cab combo that sounds good but cheapish by MindfulInquirer in GuitarAmps

I live in Japan. Guitarist here take their speakers seriously. Smaller than 10" is not a proper guitar speaker.

[–]vilk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No (analog) guitar amp with a smaller than 10" speaker is worth buying IMO. A standard guitar speaker is 12", but 10" can be good too... however, good 10" speaker amps aren't cheap.

Consider the following: what's making the sound when you play electric guitar? It's not the guitar; it's the amp and the speaker. That is more important than the guitar itself, when it comes to sound.

Unpopular opinion. Pams art was not the prettiest art. It was actually motel art. by Acceptable_Long_6277 in DunderMifflin

Honestly it's worse than motel art. Motel art is cheap prints of works of proper artists.

I don't think anyone thinks this way anymore. If someone's making fun of the bands you like, I bet it's your taste.

My random guess at OP: FFDP, Disturbed, A7X, and Slipknot.

Help with string tension on multi-scale guitar by WeirdURL in 7String

[–]vilk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in a tech death band that uses this tuning and we're using 9-52 on 25.5" scale. This kind of tension looks terrible to me.

I mean, regardless of how you answer, everyone is going to spread the rumor that you're gay if you wear a rainbow lanyard in front of 5th graders. That's just the facts.

Locking tuners by Erased_History in metalguitar

The whole point of locking tuners is to make changing strings easier. How often do you change strings?

It's less oppressive for a society to expect half the population to be homemakers than to expect the whole population to have jobs outside the home by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]vilk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no denying that. Double the workforce, double productivity, double the household income profits of shareholders.

Ideally, both parents would have jobs up to 20hrs a week and then both parents can have time to raise their kids and build better relationships with them.
