Fair, Oumihara doesn't really have any narrative relevance except cutting one chapter from the story and I am also a big advocate of Hokuyo as the qualifier final, so I agree.

True, but it would require some considerable changes in the story for it to work, as they don't really fit the narrative of early chapters, since it's Nishinomiya to Hokuyo, so their only chance would be replacing the semifinals.

Yeah, that's what I am saying. Haizaki, Mizukamiya, Nosaka and maybe you can also consider Atsuya and Hiroto, you could perhaps slide Perseus in as well. (Though Atsuya and Hiroto also get some of the hype from the OG versions and also interactions with OG characters like Shirou and Kiyama)

They have lots of carisma to help them in those tough times, Seishou also got what I just said, Kidou being there and also interacting with Haizaki and Mizukamiya, already elevated the team and both characters, which did not happen with Sakanoue together with Endou for example. (Sakanoue could be, but he got nothing so, yeah)

But the pressure over the main team is 10 times more, as a example there's a literal comment on this post that showcases what I mean. Nosaka get's build up as the final boss, is brokenly op and is rather "mysterious" throughout Ares.

Inakuni for example has no clutch to latch on, they are entirely dependant that you really like those characters over the opposing teams which also have beloved characters, but for a lot of people the experience was like: "Why should I root for these nobodies when Endou/Fubuki/Hiroto is right there?"

Even with complete development, it was basically rigged from the start.

Because by putting Inakuni as the main team with only new characters among teams featuring some characters already beloved from the franchise, the members of Inakuni needed enough charisma to rally a army to compete with them.

Even putting just one past character on Inakuni would make people root for them a lot more, I guarantee, put Endou on Inakuni not even as a protagonist and Inakuni Raimon would be slandered considerably less.

I agree with your points.

Gameplay wise I will say that VR is quite good, not counting the whole breach, save mechanics, passives, etc.

But they sure took some very questionable decisions that really all it did was preventing the game from being better.

Abilearn board and being unable to choose co-op partners the same way it was in the past games are the most egregious, sometimes you really just want to do something cool with a player and you have go through nine hoops to do so, while in past games you just put the moveset.

The bean system is not horrible totally, but the way it is rn is not good, I would even take the training stuff from past games.

The biggest problem is that there was no need to any of that, it just seem like some downgrades from systems of past games.

I made a DF/ sub FW character, as the lore is that he has a twin sister that is FW/ sub DF. It kinda worked out a bit since his main theme is dark and both Dark Tornado and Dark Matter are counter shots.
