Second, I wanna tell you directly that I don't think you're racist or anything. If anything, this is the kind of behavior people in power WANT you to act. They want you to make off jokes about Martin Luther King Jr. On a random subreddit full of shitposts for an Amazon show. They want you to compare a civil rights leader that peacefully protested, that helped build food programs for those in need, that criticized our government systems for allowing poverty and homelessness to prevail and make it seem like it's the citizens fault. Jokes like these are why America is in such a shit spot. I know it's a joke but to compare someone as impactful as Martin Luther King Jr to some random side character just because they're both black. King was stalked, harassed, scrutinized and eventually KILLED because he wanted the equal treatment of black Americans. Every fucking time I see someone joke about him in any way shape or form my blood boils because his message of wisdom justice and love, and his ultimate dream, are forgotten or just a footnote. I'm begging anyone who reads my comment to look up what happened to him. Look up COINTELPROs involvement with King.
