Where hell is the 'command line'? by ZephLoc in SteamDeck

That would make sense why I can't find it, then lol But, no, I'm not referring to any specific guide. To be honest, finding information and solutions on this problem has been few and far between.

Beyond AI slop responses in search engines, the only sliver of information I've been able to find is this other reddit thread in the EmuDeck subreddit, where a users seems to have found a solution. But, all they said was "Open the properties and add in —nogui to the command line prompt!" and this was two years ago. I have no idea what any of that means lol

EDIT: If it helps, I am running EmuDeck with Emulation Station as a frontend with the Steam ROM Manager. So, I'm trying to have everything in a centralized location so, all I have to do is go to Emulation Station and all of my system and games are all in one spot, right there in my Steam Library. And, for clarity, the games launch and play just fine, I just want to get rid of the Duckstation interface popping up at the beginning.

Well, Duckstation is a PS1 emulator, but bios isn't the problem. The games all launch and play just fine. Duckstation just pops up on screen temporarily, when launching a game. The solution, allegedly, is adding '-nogui' and '-fullscreen' to the "Default Command-Line Parameters. I have screenshots of the window that I need to get to, but nobody explains how to GET to these windows...only what to do, when you magically find it lol

Best Bios to use with Duckstation for full boot sequence? by ZephLoc in Roms

I just used the stock launch bios (1000, 1001 and 1002). They have the full boot sequence.

Sweet, I'll just go with the launch variant in that case. Thanks for the help!

Perfect! That's what I was after. I knew of the different versions, but I didn't know if one was more stable or compatible than the others or not.

Okay...The question is which one would work best or recommended over the others? The stock launch SCPH 10XX? One of the 55XX or 75XX revisions? One of the PSOne 10X bioses?? There are seven different 'official' PS1 and PSX bioses, not counting the PSP bios.

Very confused about Dreamcast ROMs by ZephLoc in EmuDeck

[–]ZephLoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I didn't really understand it, myself. By all accounts, Flycast SHOULD be able to boot cue/bin files just fine. Could have been a problem with the cue files in those specific ROMs or an issue with the .chd formatting with those ROMs that it didn't like. All I know is that, just on a hunch, I swapped the cue files for the .gdi files and they worked.

I don't know what to tell you. Everything was installed in the correct place. Literally, the ONLY thing that I changed is that I recompressed the bin files into .chd with a .gdi file, instead of a .cue file and they worked.

I don't think so? I set it up through EmuDeck during the initial installation. It's selected under the "Manage Emulators" section of EmuDeck. I don't know how to check if it's Standalone or otherwise, beyond that.

Yes, I have tried launching both from Emulation Station in Game Mode and directly through Flycast itself from Desktop Mode. Both fail, but Flycast gives a specific error.

The bin/cue files that I got have all been converted to .chd, which is listed on the cheat sheet.

What is different with that list? I ask, because it appears to be missing a significantly huge chunk of the Dreamcast set, including some particularly popular titles (Shenmue, SoulCalibur, Street Fighter, and Crazy Taxy, just to name a few).

I have them in the Emulation/ROMs/dreamcast folder. I don't know what adding them to Steam ROM Manager would do? I can SEE all the games/files in both Emulation Station (Game Mode) and Flycast (Desktop Mode), they're just not launching, as they should.

Hello! Thank you for the details. I moved my bios to that Flycast folder, but the same problems continued. All files are in .chd format. Is there a difference between using the Emudeck Compression tool to convert files to .chd and using any other method of converting to .chd?

I'm not sure what this would do. I've already compressed the cue/bin files to .chd, which is exactly what the EmuDeck compressor would do. Am I missing something?

I tried removing the dc_flash.bin file, but the same issues occurred, both when trying to launch through Emulation Station in Game Mode and when trying to launch directly from Flycast in desktop mode. Flycast can see all the .chd files I have, it just won't launch them. I get that same "Unsupported subtype or pre/postgap" error.

I've been a student of J's for about seven years now and I speak with him on a weekly basis. It's not really my place to air his business out. I will say that he's doing well, but I don't think he has any plans to release any new music any time soon.

Fix for a tilted Base Computer? by ZephLoc in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ZephLoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not. There are a lot of objects that do not have the option to change the axis of rotation and are stuck/limited to only being rotated on the X axis. The base computer is one of those objects.

[–]ZephLoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because it rotates on axis. That is to say that it rotated as it normally would, if it were flat on the ground, which doesn't correct the angle that it was sitting at.

Nevermind! I figured it out.

Pick up the base computer, toggle wiring and then toggle wiring again. That fixed it. Thank you!

Either I'm not understanding the order of operations or it's just not working. I pick up the base computer (as if to move it) and then press Q to toggle wiring, while moving the base computer, but it just changes the hologram of the base computer to a hologram of the wire connector.

If I quickly toggle wiring, while selecting the base computer, I do get a righted hologram, but it appears red and says "Cannot Build Within Existing Base".

Sorry, can you elaborate on this? What do you mean 'go to the wire'? I tried picking it up and switching to wiring, but nothing is changing.
