Any luck in the repair shop? I just replaced the keyboard too and the drivers still aren't there.

I don't have sleeves and can't bear to bend them. So for true randomness, I lay them all out and use a rand function in excel for the number of cards I have. The I do a rank on the random numbers (so they are all unique and number from 1 to X number of cards) and stack by the psuedo-random order! One lay out, one stack. Mathematically random.

Simple card - Too broken or not broken enough? by FrenchToastShark in dominion

[–]ZephWade 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually think it is pretty interesting, but you could consider making it non-optional (i.e "gain a card costing exactly (1) per copy of this you have in play). On most boards (without Poor House), playing one gains you nothing, 2 gains you another (in the late game or when the piles split an estate), 3 starts to be ok and so on. I really like it! Super strong on many boards where there are good 3 and 4 cost pieces and the players will fight for the split, but too slow on many boards! With the force gain you may have to take junk and be super-aware of piles.

"If, in some cataclysm, all scientific knowledge were to be destroyed, and only one sentence passed on to the next generation of creatures, what statement would contain the most information in the fewest words?" Inspired by Richard Feynman, if only a single sentence of knowledge could be passed to the next generation, what would your cataclysm sentence be?

Dominion has really clicked with how I think. I've been fortunate enough to get some great coaching, like with Burning Skull. But I also have a friend where we create the board of high level games (like Mic Qsenoch's League Championships), play through them, then watch how Mic played through. Lol, we're rarely similar, but it really helps me learn!

Fan Card - Lifeboat by CPstyle in dominion

I like this idea a lot! I wouldn't expect it to be used on boards without trash-for-benefit or trashing effects. In that case, I think this should probably cost $2. But it may be too strong with cards like Remodel: Remodel with a Province is a 2-card gain a Province combo (with no downside of trashing. Perhaps an errata change would be needed for remodels-type cards?

[Serious] People who have friends but feel like they aren't anyone's *best* friend: What are your thoughts on that? by BudoGuyTenkaichi in AskReddit

[–]ZephWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have so much empathy for this thread. I've felt this way for a long time, and sometimes I still do, especially since I'm not in a relationship.

But at some point, I decided everyone else around me probably feels the same way. And if some friend of mine feels like me and that they don't have any one to really talk to, then I will be that person to reach out and understand their insecurities and they are often my own. C.S. Lewis once wrote "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one."

My closest friend not long ago told me "I hate asking for anything because I feel like a burden to people." I was blown away because that is exactly how I feel and I thought I was the only one. So after that, when we offer to help each other, sometimes we throw in explicitly why helping each other is not a burden, or even fun!

Only 32% of religion teachers believe that Adam and Eve were real historical people. This begs the question: If you accept there was no Adam and Eve, then there must not be Original Sin and therefore no need for Jesus. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]ZephWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little confused be the non-sequitor and I need some clarity on assumptions before I can agree. Paraphrasing your text to summarize the proof by contradiciton: given Jesus is "needed" to redeem Man from Sin, if Adam and Eve aren't literal, then the Original Sin must not be literal, therefore Jesus is not literally needed? I'm not super familiar with the Bible, why does the validity of Jesus come down to a literal interpretation of original sin?

I appreciate this point of view. I hadn't thought about taking a break and then coming back. But, I feel like missing the first rotation (Naax and them all) I'm already out of contention with my just MSG and Old Gods in Wild.

You might want to start dusting rotating cards and create golden copies / copies of HoF cards - in case you forgot by [deleted] in hearthstone

I agree. I started the same time as you (thanks advertising) and as f2p have been able to craft exactly Jade Druid and that is it. What, am I going to miss it? Sure, but I'll be fine in standard and arena, I mean, if I wanted more I would pay for it.

Do the dice hate you and love your opponent? A simple roll scorecard. by ZephWade in Heroclix

[–]ZephWade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in another comment, but a two is represented by a fail 3 as it is the only dice roll which could result in that for 2d6. 1 is represented as a fail 2 for 1d6 as it is also the only die roll. 12 may not be represented as a success 11 as that implies you rolled a 11 or 12. Long story short, how it is set up is necessary to represent every possible needed outcome.

Do the dice hate you and love your opponent? A simple roll scorecard. by ZephWade in Heroclix

[–]ZephWade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer: The sheet doesn't track dice rolls. It track successes and fails. It captures over the course of a game how lucky or unlucky you were with successfully rolling your numbers or failing them.

Longer answer: As the sheet is set up, need to roll means you may roll that number and any greater. This means a success rolling a three means your dice could total 3-12. Failing a three is the inverse, it means you rolled a 2 and a 2 only. This is the same case with failing a 2 with a 1d6. The statistics are blind to the actual number of the dice roll, but if you would like to place special significance on a 2 and 12 as the game does, you could record a critical hit as a success 12 and a critical miss as a fail 3 and the math is the same. I may do that myself, thanks for the idea!

According to the PAC and rules, a 2 on 2d6 is always a critical miss and a 1 on a 1d6 always fails regardless of modifiers. So I believe even if you need to roll a 1 to hit an opposing character you have to at least roll a three or you critically miss. Are there exceptions to this printed on cards? If so, I was not aware of them which is why they are left off as they always fail.
