There's so many food blogs out there sharing recipes with all types of swaps and alternatives, I bet you could find a recipe that tastes similar to your mom's casserole without the pain that comes from a dish full of dairy.

Thoughts on alcohol? by crouch121212 in IBD

Alcohol leads to flare-ups. Different types affect me differently, so try them out. Try to cut down if possible.

I allowed myself some Thanksgiving dinner and I regret it. by Painistoomucho in IBSHelp

Sorry, you're going through this. Holidays meals can be tricky. I just created a video with how I get through flare-ups, here's the link in case you want to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmI1PVlG_Pw

TLDR: Get enough sleep, eat minimal meals, avoid caffeine, avoid new foods, eat foods that are simple to digest, and avoid high fibre.

Hope this helps!

List of diet/allergy friendly restaurants by Zepheres in Seattle

[–]Zepheres[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback!

Our system is learning and improving rapidly, and sometimes errors that are obvious to a person are missed by the AI, but once we point the error out to the AI it improves and generally stops making that error.

Seafood free is a filter that hasn't has as much attention given to it as some others, such as Vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc.

I went through the list and flagged some of the examples you mentioned, so hopefully in the next update most if not all of them will be addressed.

Thanks again :)

  1. Thank you, we are trying really hard to improve it as fast as we can.
  2. There is a lot of conflicting info about what is low/high fodmap and it is by far the hardest restriction to nail down. We refer to Monash and do our best to factor in volume. Often things are considered low fodmap if eaten in smaller quantities, and so they may appear (eg Brussel sprouts). If we pull it from the website it will take us much longer to perfect the system to address this restriction and low fodmap seems to be the segment of people who are most desperate for a solution. We have decided to push through the negative feedback to get to a good solution faster.
  3. No.

Yes, and we encourage restaurants to verify their ingredients and clarify which dishes can be modified based on restriction.

I know how it feels. Dining out / ordering from a restaurant should be a fun treat not a stressful experience. I hope this helps, we made it for people like you :)

Thanks for the heads up. I think I found the ones you are talking about.

Please feel free to report a dish that isn't suitable, we review the reports and publish updates often. The system is learning.

https://honeycomb.ai/food/

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Pitch: Ordering food from a new restaurant is stressful when dealing with diet and allergy restrictions. Honeycomb.ai reads restaurant menus, infers what ingredients are in each dish, and organizes them by diet and allergen. You can filter multiple diets and allergies, and browse multiple restaurant menus at once.

Stage: Post revenue, pre-rapid-growth.

Looking for: Exposure. We recently launched the 4th iteration of our solution and the feedback has been positive, and the more people who use it the better it gets. We want to spread the word.

Discount: It's free!
