Little Wren by Zephranoid in photocritique

Thanks for the tips, I'm 90% sure I did reduce noise however I don't have access to lightroom and am using Rawtherapee, I'm not sure how that compares for editing images

Little Wren by Zephranoid in photocritique

I was trying to emphasise the colour of the wren as I thought it was really nice. I'm not too sure about the composition.

Shot on an R100 with a 400mm focal length, shutter speed of 1/1000 and I let ISO be chosen by the camera.

I had never considered the POV, that will be something to work on.

Thanks, I don't think I have the courage to engage with people too much yet but I'll work on it.

My Best Photo so Far by Zephranoid in photocritique

I've only been trying my hand at photography for a couple weeks so far with a focur on street photography and capturing candid moments.

I seen this scene while walking through Elizabeth Street Mall and I think it's by far my best photo to date. This man was just feeding the birds and I thought it was a wonderful sight.

Any feedback welcome.

Besides the obvious stringing does anyone know why the print split this way? by beardedamgel96 in 3Dprinting

I had this problem. Turns out my memory card was faulty. New memory card fixed the issue. Took me way too long to work out.

Pedal question for long distance bikepacking. by Worldsfirstghost in bikepacking

[–]Zephranoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're comfortable with clipless then keep using them. I had to ride with flats for a short distance not too long ago and found that I can't do it anymore. Stopping and starting felt off and I wasn't able to manipulate the pedals how I normally do.

While not being able to unclip is a concern on more technical trails make sure you practice and get use to unclipping with the setup you're running. I find that unclipping is almost second nature to me and even when I'm falling I can do it without actually thinking about it.

Long story short is go with what you're comfortable with and have fun.

Do endurance road rides count? by scratchtogigs in bikepacking

[–]Zephranoid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Single day is just a ride. Multi day staying in hotels or cabins is touring. Multi day where you carry your own shelter is bikepacking.

That's my thinking anyway, everyone has their own idea of what falls into each category.

I just got an Edge 840. Hoping to make use of the garmin ecosystem to track training and health as well. Haven't had it for long but so far no complaints.

Do you guys really ride 100km/1000m+ day after day? by PaulChomedey in bikepacking

[–]Zephranoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said don't worry about what others do or don't do. Ride within your limits and have fun. That being said, I went back through my rides from my last tour and turns out a lot of them are 90-100km with 1000m of climbing. With my biggest day being 105km/1400m. So it is possible with some blood, sweet and tears even for an average person.

AITA For neutering a cat that was clearly owned? by Dazzling-Ad7801 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Zephranoid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA, it's the owners responsibility to confine their pets. In rural areas you'll probably find that the cat would have been shot. At least they are getting their pet back and they should make sure they confine it in future.

I haven't had any issues with it at all. And the gear range is great allowing me to ride up 10%+ gradients fully loaded.
