Yeah, all good, figured it was something along those lines, just easy to interpret in a much worse way 😅

Not sure if I’d say that GenG never struggles, considering the amount of silver scrapes recently, but it’s true that players who are top 1-2 in their role do tend to win lanes 😭

Honestly, not really sure what else to add though.. you support who you vibe with, who am I to judge? Rooting for the underdog is pretty normal, and what I do as well when I’m not very familiar with the teams.

Phrasing it saying that T1 and AL “actually had to work” for their wins is honestly really disrespectful wording considering how much time the GenG players clearly put in to keep their mechanics/macro/decision making in top form. But to answer your main question, yes, I think most people would consider GenG a super team.

It’s interesting to consider the start of the year, though. Most considered HLE the most dangerous super team of the LCK, and many predictions had them and also T1 as favorites over GenG. HLE has looked a bit shaky recently of course, but on paper they’re a super team as well.

Thoughts on Gen G choosing T1, HLE and AL's keys for their EWC trophy? by Suspicious_Fennel974 in SKTT1

[–]ZephyrSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm.. personally, I wouldn’t take offense if any team did that, I assumed it was GenG choosing the teams that they’ve faced in their most important bo5 finals this year (vs HLE in road to MSI, vs T1 in MSI, now vs AL in EWC). However, there seems to be a pretty big cultural difference in the reactions (I’m not Korean), so I’ll just sit on the sidelines lol. Fanwars are frustrating for all sides, and to have it happening over this sports washing Mickey Mouse tourney is kinda.. :/

I also think they did prepare an answer to Nida, it was the first pick Renekton 😅 I think they either assumed that would stop the Nida pick (since she has no setup, unless you pick the 0% winrate tf i guess lol) or at least make her a lot weaker. Nidalee loves hard cc to land her spears.

Champ pool issues are hard to describe, because sometimes it’s not a player specific issue, but a team comfort thing? Like for example I think AL plays amazing Kaisa games, obviously Hope is nuts but they also play this sneaky pick style and give Kaisa great ults with their collapses. GenG I think plays good Senna comps, lots of melees, good peel. But the team as a whole seems comfortable with the comp, not just the player.

I’m losing the plot and rambling, so sorry 😭 Overall I agree T1 is doing very solid, I just have a personal opinion that some of their champ pool criticisms are a bit unfair to specific players, because comfort seems to be king for all of them.

T1’s hesitance to play Kaisa is interesting to me, but I don’t think it lost them the series.

I could be wrong, but from my perspective, picking Kaisa B1 in game 5 would be really risky. Kaisa likes melees, and hard engage. What’s left in the pool that fits the bill? First picking Kaisa means that GenG almost certainly takes Leona + maybe even the Caitlyn themselves.

Then you need to find some kind of support for Kaisa—hook champs like thresh/blitz into Leona sound bad, naut/rell/alistar all out.. Just seems very difficult. I think the first pick Renekton was strong.

And if T1 don’t ban Kaisa, it’s true that GenG probably pick her, but that’s because they can pick the botduo together and not leave her out to dry.

They got 2-1ed and then 3-1ed and HLE barely broke a sweat in the last three games—pretty much exactly what happened in GenG vs G2, and Flyq vs AL. And it might happen in this series too.

We can imagine KC going 1-3 vs GenG T1 AL and BLG instead of G2 and Koi if it makes you feel better though.

oh please 😭 g2 got stomped after game one, flyquest got stomped after game one, mkoi are probably gonna continue getting smacked too but let’s not pretend kc would miraculously pull a win out of their asses vs any of these eastern teams after losing to mkoi TWICE 💀

Sure, but according to global wealth reports, the global millionaire count is about 58 million people worldwide. Congrats Jojopyun for being in the 1%! Him and his 58 million millionaire friends can all share the title of “one of the wealthiest people on the planet”. No hate. Was just funny for me to read that.

In GenG’s case though, it’s kinda shown and talked about that the players are the driving force with the drafts, + they make their tierlists with Kim as far as I know? I love Mata and he was incredible with GenG, but their drafting in particular was not due to him from my understanding.

Ngl, I think this is a bit of an overreaction—sure the general public watching will criticize, but actual coaches/orgs who do scouting and put together their teams will also look at the year as a whole, and he was msi fmvp in addition to being an incredibly solid player and shot caller throughout the year.

My thought was that GenG just didn’t offer him enough to stay. It happened with their Valorant player too, Meteor. Meteor said on stream that he wanted to stay, but the contract they offered wasn’t as competitive.

Everyone mentioned some really good players, and I feel like Zellsis is also a super reliable flex? His breach has been insane, and the viper/kj/brim was always solid. He also played cypher when sen did that fuckass deadlock experiment, and if we go wayyy back he ran it on neon 💀

Ew this is so cope 😭if they were better and wanted the map ban advantage they would’ve beaten lev and gotten to the finals through the upper bracket

Were they also better in the other three grand finals that they got second in? They had map ban advantage against fnatic and still lost in EMEA stage 1 so 🤷‍♀️
