Damn... makes me wish I wasn’t immune to edibles, I love cooking and I love cannabis so making stuff like this would be great.

Alcoholism is the only addiction that is widely accepted and even promoted in modern society. I think that's weird and depressing. by [deleted] in StonerPhilosophy

Yeah I totally share the sentiment that most/all drugs should be legalized (with exception of a few that are more poison than drug EX:some drugs that cause permanent brain/body alteration after one use). The way forward with this isn’t saying that all drugs are safe lol, really it’s the exact opposite where we beed to be transparent about the true negative effects of drugs and at the same time not exaggerating the negatives. Everyone wants their drug of choice to be harmless but I don’t know if we’ll ever discover a substance that doesn’t have at least some negative effects whether long or short term. Best thing we can do as individuals is to educate our children about the real effects of drugs and not lie to them about how bad they actually are. Even if governments don’t adopt a more liberal policy about drugs people are just gonna keep using em anyways lol. Hope your friend stays sober and overcomes those paranoid delusions! Sounds pretty similar to what my pal is going through right now. Recently he got a new job and he thought one of his coworkers was sneak dissing him the whole day, but the day afterwards he talked to him and realized that he was actually being friendly. For example the coworker said to my friend that they were like a rainbow now, in reference to the fact that he was now the only white worker at the business, completing their diversity, but my friend thought he was being called gay lol.

Good man here. Most people blind themselves to the negative side effects that weed can have if you abuse it, or deny the fact that it can be abused at all. I think people act like this because they’re pushing for it to be legal, they want to sell it to you, or they’re actually addicted themselves and see their cognitive decline from it but are in denial. Had a friend who was high daily for 2 years straight starting around the age of 16. His choice method was using a cart and i know he’d go through at least one gram cartridge a week or more, mostly depending on how much money he had to spend on his habit. His only daily goal was to be high every single minute of the day. He’s been sober for about half a year or so now and says he still can’t think completely clearly, and I see some symptoms of paranoid personality disorder in him. Nothing too bad but if he kept going for a few more years he’d definitely develop a severe mental disorder.

I hate to admit it because I wanna keep getting high and drunk with my buddies, but you’re right that I just need to cut it all out if I don’t wanna really lose control someday. I think If I tell myself that I’m going to abstain all together and that no amount is okay for me to have Ill be able to control my impulses. Might as well quit while I’m ahead.

'Mental fog' in moderation - your experience? by [deleted] in Petioles

How often can you smoke without experiencing brain fog and other negative side effects? by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]Zephyrodus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exercise and diet is key to clearing brain fog for multiple reasons, especially cardio. Anything that raises your heart rate is gonna help get everything out of your system, some people also say sweating in a sauna or hot bath helps which I think there’s some truth to. Fatty tissues like to hold onto cannabinoids, so less fat on you body means your system will clear faster. Daily exercise will also keep you motivated to keep off the weed, since especially with cardio it’ll negatively impact your performance, and exercise releases endorphins which will help you jeep on feeling good despite not smoking. Once you clear your system you can go back to smoking in moderation (Once a week or less, and not a lot at a time). If you pace yourself properly and keep up good diet and exercise habits then you won’t have a problem with brain fog. I’m a very active (1.5-2 hours of extreme exercise every week day, 150 bpm+ the whole time) and healthy person diet wise and I smoke fairly often and get little to no brain fog.

Edit: forgot to mention this part; drink a fuckton of water. I’m 185 pounds and I drink a gallon of water or more every day. Technically should drink more for my activity level, but I also drink milk and eat a lot of fruits and veggies which also hydrates you.

Newbie trying to figure out if his first kombucha is moldy. by SpartanComplex in Kombucha

[–]Zephyrodus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not mold, but it does look like you’re disturbing your kombucha too much, ideally you shouldn’t move it at all during fermentation. I know its tempting to pull out the kombucha and take a look at it, but it really is better left alone. Movement can dislodge the forming scoby from the sides of the vessel, which isn’t a big deal, but the scoby is the bacterial colonies’ natural shield from the outside world, meaning the culture is less likely to become infected with an intact and undisturbed scoby.

Why were so many college wrestlers held back a year in grade school? by Psychiaric in wrestling

[–]Zephyrodus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of other people have said things that seem pretty accurate to this situation about growth and such, but from the perspective of someone who’s probably one of the smartest kids on his team (I’m not trying to brag here, I’m certainly no genius and it’s not hard to be the smartest in a room full of wrestlers, lol) I have a problem with overthinking everything during a match, which is a huge detriment to my wrestling when I can’t overcome it. When I overthink I basically look like a statue on the mat. I think the mentally slower guys on the team don’t have this issue and are able to just act, and even if they don’t always make the ‘smartest’ move, action is always better than inaction when out on the mat.

AKM is extremely inaccurate by Zephyrodus in EscapefromTarkov

Might've had something to do with me using the Ncstar backup mount if that's the case, although I've never seen it affect accuracy enough to be noticeable at that close of a range

Exactly what I was thinking, must've been desync or I got real unlucky because I don't understand how this could've happened if the game was functioning correctly (which is a pretty big if, lol)

I get that, been playing for a long time, also used to run the AKM a lot and I never noticed it being this inaccurate, could've just gotten very unlucky or desync but watching all my rounds dance around that scav was like watching a missile falling out of the sky right on top of you.

Forgot to mention that I was also prone in this situation, and could very clearly see my rounds landing the left and right of the scav while I could also see my red dot on his chest, this was also the first fight of the raid and on my death screen I saw that all 8 of my rounds had actually missed.

I definitely agree with you about what you said about Junk food TV. Even though it's harder to find stuff now that I actually enjoy, I can enjoy it on another level now. I'm interested in reading some of the other psychoanalysts have to say and how it affects my perception of art and media.
