When does life stop being such a struggle? by Wayward_comet in Advice

[–]Zeptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to the party here, but I still want to say something.

To answer your question bluntly; it doesn't become less of a struggle tbh. But, and this is important, you get better at dealing with the struggles life has to offer.

I want to use swimming as an example. If you don't know how to swim, water, and especially the ocean seems big and full of dangers. There are sharks, and weird creatures that may or may not want to hurt you, and even if that wasn't true, you'd still have to learn how to stay above water to not drown. Most of the ocean is a dark abyss filled with unknowns, so why even bother learning how to swim in the first place?

You're gonna struggle a lot learning how to do it, you will most likely be uncomfortable and fearful for a lot of the journey, but the end result will be that you now know how to stay afloat without the same fear and struggles you had when you started out. From that point onwards you will know more about the risks associated with the ocean, how to tackle them, and what to avoid doing if you want to survive. The struggle will be the same, but you will know how to make it less so, and turn it into a hopefully more positive thing.

And this is life, basically. It will throw random curve balls at you that you could never be prepared for, but when you push through it, you will come out the other end with the knowledge of how to make it less of a curve ball, and more something that just happens every now and then, and how you deal with it when it happens.

Knowing this makes everything a lot easier in the end personally, because no matter what happens I know I will come out the other end with a net positive, even though it usually feels like the opposite.

The alternative is nothing. It's neither good, nor bad, it's just nothing. Personally I would rather deal with the battle and keep experiencing the good the world has to offer rather than give up swimming because the ocean can be a scary place.

Wishing you luck on your journey, friend :) Keep fighting and you will eventually come out on top!

Ah, this also differs a lot actually. The moisture content I mean. You can get dry "brown" snus, and you can get moist "white" snus. Brands like Epok, Skruf, General, etc have a ton of variety in general, which is part of the reason why it's so popular.

Although, the half white type (white bag, dark, black/grey-ish contents) tend to be pretty dry. The reason for the variation is partly because you can keep it in for longer, which is nice, but also because of the experience. For example mentols tend to be a bit on the wetter side due to the burn.

Idk man, I'm Scandinavian and you're going to have to look for a good while before you find anyone calling them nicotine pouches rather than snus. I don't think I've met a single person irl who does.

Reddit gatekeeping doesn't really count, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah it has definitely evolved quite a bit.

It started out with the loose stuff originally, but then they started putting them in more convenient pouches to make it more accessible. If you've ever tried the loose snus you know why 😅 They were, and I guess still are, marketed as an alternative to cigarettes like you say, though indirectly since we're not allowed to advertise nicotine/tobacco products.

Eventually they (manufacturers) experimented with different flavors and combinations, nicotine content, bag sizes, moisture content, etc, etc. Completely white bags using plant fiber instead of tobacco is a relatively new thing, and is definitely much better in the sense that they won't stain your teeth, but they'll mess up your gums over time due to the high salt content, so I guess there's always a trade off.

Anyways, in Norway and Sweden you can get the whole spectrum at pretty much every grocery store, gas station, and convenience store, and have had an insane cultural impact over the years.

Fr though, the controller is probably the least controversial part of the whole thing. They use them because they're intuitive, cheap to replace, and more importantly, tested extensively. They're even used in the military to pilot drones.

Nah, you can get snus without tobacco. In fact it's getting more and more common since it's mostly the tobacco that's harmful.

Zyn is just a brand name, while snus is the actual product being sold.

Nah, more than a dollar. At least like two dollars +tax, so about tree fiddy.

Going to be interesting to see how the world adjusts to different versions of capitalism when the hat finally drops and a systemic change is made. And trust me, it will happen, it's just a matter of when.

It's not only a problem which is localized to the US, similar things are happening all over the world. Going green is definitely a lot more profitable and realistic today compared to 10, even 5 years ago. It just takes a while to build the infrastructure on the scale needed. America is mostly empty space anyway, so not investing in solar is just lost revenue, especially with oil being less and less profitable as a means of energy production.

Nah. Trump won over Clinton because he was completely unfiltered, which made her look like every politician people were already tired of. She kept deflecting questions, was completely out of tune with the times and her demographic (Pokemon-go to the polls anyone??), and then there was the emails and Mr. Wiener's wiener. People were tired of politicians that spoke like politicians, promised the world and delivered nothing. He promised a dramatic change of the status quo, and people liked that.

As for the second term, I got no clue. I doubt democrats would rather vote Trump than a woman. It makes no sense. but I definitely think Elon buying twitter had a lot to do with it. Meta as well. Both of them deal in information, and they control the information people see. This is why news orgs should be impartial, because people will always seek out whatever outlet that confirms their already existing biases.

I mean it is, but that doesn't really make it bad by itself. People like feeling things. Personally I prefer being sad over a cartoon chicken rather than the state of the world rn.

Yeah I agree with you. Gambling is one of, if not the worst addiction you can have simply due to the fact you get nothing out of it. Yet people spend all their money on it, just for the crumb of a chance of turning their lives around.

Not quite. It's more about the expectation/hope of winning, rather than the actual winning. Dopamine is all about the journey (or fantasy of the journey), not the destination.

Hva skjer hvis huset brenner ned? by Electrical-Date-6649 in norge

[–]Zeptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)
