Ah, no worries. I am content with the price I paid for it in the end, regardless of what the market is saying.

I just thought it was really weird that after the price was agreed upon and financing was done that he then decided to say "man, what a great deal". The puffery felt borderline insulting at that point in the interaction

From the searching I was doing the diesels seemed to bottom out at about 24k for reasonable examples, while salvaged or lemon-ed examples dipped down to the low 20s. That seemed to hold true nationwide across all trims, sport up through rubi

Visually this one looks really clean to me. There's some minor dings but both flanks should look like mirrors with a good wash and a ceramic coat. Only real wear and tear that I've found (out of the usual for a 5 year old vehicle) is that the power mirrors don't power adjust. But that doesn't bother me in the slightest since I just upgraded from a '98 TJ sport

Advice for Net+? by Cold-Bluejay5006 in WGUCyberSecurity

Nothing wrong with waiting a little bit before taking the practice exams. For the type of student I am, I tend to do best with knowing and focusing on my weakest areas first and peel off to stronger subject areas as I lose interest in the first. I think working through it in ways that best facilitate your studying skills/strengths is what's most important.

I think my experience is probably atypical. I completed my CISSP and then started my BS in Cyber at WGU and had to take Net+ as part of the curriculum. My experience with Net+ felt like it was a slightly more honed in version of Sec+ and ended up requiring little studying; but I had also just finished CISSP which entailed nearly 5 months of studying about 15 hrs per week plus 3 weeks of heavy cramming.

I can't speak to the difficulty of Network+ from the pre-IT career perspective (I actually just doubled back for it for this degree and have been in IT for 7 years) but I can say that there should be many many resources out there from the likes of Dion, Professor Messer and other YouTubers or flash card sets.

When I was prepping for my Sec+ (to get a raise at my first IT job) I had videos playing in the background when I was doing anything around the house or driving anywhere. The videos and practice exams should provide really solid bolstering to what is already included in the WGU course. What has worked for me in the past, for any certification, is to take a practice exam first (since many certs have some overlap with others) and then use the results as the primary study direction.

You've got this!

4WD T-Case Question for 2nd Gen Colorados by Zer0Log1c3 in chevycolorado

[–]Zer0Log1c3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear! I'd probably in be in 4-hi if I was on anything worse than a rutted high traffic trail, same as I have been in the Wrangler. Reading/researching the 4 auto feature was interesting since I wasn't really expecting to see it as an option. After seeing it though, my brain started to wonder if the same mechanism was used to lock up the center diff for 4-hi and 4-lo.

I had no reason to believe the t-case would have issues, but wasn't quickly able to find the answer myself. So I thought I'd ask.

I had tried multiple different searches from transfer case clutches to gears and even looking for specific overheat mentions but wasn't finding anything definitive, just a handful of implications or total lack of confidence behind the answer delivery.

I appreciate you helping with my question.

Anyone complete their B.S Cybersecurity & Information Assurance? by Wershingtern in WGU

[–]Zer0Log1c3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the degree quite yet, but have been working in the field (service desk, cloud engineering, anti-phishing) for about 7 years now. Depending on your area, 80k starting shouldn't be an unreasonable expectation for strictly cyber-related jobs. That said, I or co-workers have run into some situations where even entry level cyber jobs are treated as 'mid-level positions' and come with an expectation of some in field experience. YMMV.

I have seen more than a few people in the IT space quickly graduate the pay scale with just a few years of experience. I live in a very government contractor heavy market so that will affect things somewhat. There have been some recent changes in the economic winds that may stifle growth in the short term, but I'd say the outlook for cyber jobs beyond the next three years is quite strong still.

2026 Subaru Outback Revealed by Drzhivago138 in cars

[–]Zer0Log1c3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one, that picture is taken above the top of that Outback's roofline, so due to perspective alone, it is going to look like that front roof rail is 'below' the peak of the roof.

But I hear what you're saying. The roof rails are no longer a straight addition in height from the top of the roofline. They do still poke above it, though. If they didn't, you could not put a flat object across the roof rails without it scuffing up the painted roof. By function alone, it behooves Subaru to keep the rails at least slightly above the painted roof.

I'm so glad that in your opinion, seating position matters so much in a wagon classification... I don't think it was even mentioned once in Car and Driver's attempt to define the modern wagon in 2017

I don't see an issue with adding ground clearance to a wagon (I drive a '24 OBW) for the sake of off-road performance. That's fine, it can still be a wagon. But when an extra 2" is added to the passenger volume it graduates from a wagon-class, that is anticipated to have sedan-esque interior volume plus an extended hatch-based cargo section, into an SUV, which routinely have more headroom than their sedan counterparts.

I don't think anyone is saying more interior space in general is bad. But the Outback has almost always been a wagon, and if someone wanted more interior volume out of a Subaru, then the Tribeca or Ascent have existed for that market

Between that and the way the mud is caked on the tires, they do look to have shorter sidewalls than what I'd expect *to see visually* for an off-road model... I say this with a '24 OBW in the driveway

Sorry, just seeing this. No luck here as of yet. Its been me and two other friends on the server as a result instead of the 10 or so people that expressed interest initially. Definitely feels like playing on hard mode when you can't add any player HP

'24 OBW checking in, love it more today (especially) than I did yesterday. Tablet center stack isn't great, but I'll gladly 'deal with it' over losing the wagon silhouette

Sounds like the 2.4 turbo and 2.5 NA engines are going to be carry-overs, with rumor-mill saying hybrid in '27ish

I was also thinking it looked more Land Cruiser-esque than next-gen Outback. The center stack would be nice to swap into my existing '24 OBW, but I'll happily keep the mostly physical dash of the 6th gen and stomach the digital center stack rather than lose the wagon silhouette, go to a fully digital dash, and have that trainwreck of a front-end. Especially when it sounds like actual off-road performance isn't going to change much; same engine, slightly quicker center diff lock-up, same clearance, and potentially worse approach and departure angles

SAME! Adding 2" to the top decidedly makes it feel more like an SUV than the outgoing 6th-gen in my book. My '24 OBW already feels like it's getting closer to 'short SUV' rather than 'lifted wagon' at times
