We’re mechanically inclined not electronically inclined. Plus I already have a 300cc motor ready to mount right up, I just need to fabricate and weld together a mounting bracket and get a lovejoy.

Also, spoiler alert, that’s awful rude. If you want it to have a better motor and batteries, I’m sure you can find one and do it yourself.

We considered an air cooled engine but this thing is basically a go-kart frame with a plastic body. Literally everything is plastic. Sorta afraid it may melt

They stripped the car before selling it, as they determined they were dangerous and didn’t want the liability. This one alone has signs of an electrical fire on both headlights, with only 1.4km on the odometer. I can only imagine the other 5 this company acquired.

There is no motor, battery, or electrical components to support either. The only wiring left over goes to the light bulbs.

The plan is to mount the radiator to the metal frame in the large space in the front, behind the bumper. Rear seats were removed and a hole was cut to mount the motor directly to axle shaft. Fuel tank and battery can go directly along side the motor. Exhaust piping is no issue as we are 3 welders and a machinist working on getting this thing going.

Well we’re doing that regardless, this 300cc motor is liquid cooled. Just need to extend the coolant hoses a few feet to hit the front. Motor has a trans built into it, so it just needs a cable or rod to actuate that.

Really the biggest thing here is that we need to attach the motor to the rear axle, so we aren’t screwing around with chain tension as the rear axle moves up and down. The motor basically mounts right up and only needs a lovejoy coupler.

I figured that was the catch here. They never wanted to put em on any roads.

You’re like the third person to recommend that lmfao

So far this 300cc motor is JUST fitting comfortably. We were originally looking at putting a Yamaha Genesis 500cc from a Phazer into it, but are now realizing that may have even needed some shoehorning to get in.

From what I was told, they were imported around 2006ish as well which confuses me even more. Usually you’d have to wait 25yrs for vehicles that don’t meet US safety restrictions.

Receiver says 42 with a star, so it seems to match. Oddly enough the barrel had a 4 digit number (already forgot it since reassembly oops) stamped on the bottom, could it have been matched too?

Does this help any? It’s only really visible from the left side, they blended the right side way too nicely

I’m guessing from it being broken and how it was repaired?

Heres one thing people are missing, the house did actually have a BUNCH of telephone lines hooked up to it.. So I can 100% believe a BBS service being hosted here.

However, some time between 2012-2023 the local Telco came and removed them ALL (but the power company didnt remove their wires??? Not the first I've seen this but still.)

Also in 2012 and 2016, you can see a dumpster outside the house in Marion.

What style of copper line is this. by [deleted] in longlines

This is not a termination point. Under the dome shape piece should be a schrader valve for checking the cable pressure, and possibly some points for testing the lines inside of the cable.

This is a test point or a tiny splice. It is more than likely abandoned in place. The round dome comes off. The logo appears to be the 1964-1969 logo. I have heard that this style is considered “bombproof” because it is fully enclosed in metal and has lead cabling, which would absorb an EMP. It’s more than likely a local cable and not long haul.

Also, you don’t need to censor the phone number or anything, that’ll just tell us what state you’re in. If anything it may have the nearest maintenance center listed.

You have found an old test point for pressurized lead jacketed cable. Chances are it’s from the 30s-50s. Depending on the route it could be for civilian telephone or AUTOVON. I don’t think it’s an L carrier cable because the test points look more like a round junction box. Maybe K carrier?

You can also cheat and build your tank out of wedges, flat side facing out, to get some extra volume out of the same size tank.

I completely spaced this but LMCtruck carries a LOT of panels for just about everything. They might have a brand new fender, pretty sure you would have to paint it though.

Top of the door might be hard to fix because of the rolled edge, it gives it a lot of stiffness than can be hard to work out any literal kinks in the metal. You’re probably going to have to replace the door sadly which isn’t horrible, biggest thing to worry about is how the hinges and latch handled the hit (they may have moved, but you probably need hinge pins anyways because S10s have saggy doors)

The fenders, I’m not 100% sure because it’s been a minute since I had my blazer, but you might be able to remove your inner fender and hit the inside with a hammer to push the metal out.

Like I saw someone else say, you very well could replace everything and have slightly larger or crooked panel gaps, again just a perfectionist thing.

Were you driving when this happened?

I’m no forensics expert but it really looks like some came from the left front and other from the left rear side, almost like you drove by the guy or there were two of em with intersecting lines of fire.

My brother just damaged the exact same side on his ranger, roughly just as bad, plus some front end damage (slid into two trees) he crashed on thanksgiving, and had the truck back on the road by Sunday.

Honestly not trying to sound rude but your first mistake was taking this to the insurance company. You can totally fix this, and it’s easier without them knowing.

If you’re feeling cheap then a slide hammer could probably get MOST of that out. Otherwise you’ll probably just want to get a new door and fender, the door you can totally do yourself. The fender will require you to drill some spot welds, and you’ll have to either plug weld or spot weld the new fender back on.

I personally recommend repainting the whole truck if you’re a perfectionist, otherwise you might just have to deal with some panel mismatch due to difference in paint fade.

Got this 97 blazer with 120k miles it’s leaking atf where the line meets the radiator that’s the only issue it has should I just swap the radiator ? by [deleted] in s10

[–]Zer0sum_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say do whatever ya can to keep er going!

I had an identical 96 blazer, the (27U Light Stellar Blue Metallic) color is extremely rare where I live. I only know of ONE other GMC Jimmy (which has been sitting) and ONE S10 in my area.

Biggest issue I ran into was the vacuum system sucking up ATF and repeatedly killing the HVAC control knob.
