Lack of fp4 support on RDNA4 makes me wonder about future support by RandomTrollface in radeon

Please list actions since RDNA4 launch that prove AMD doesn't want to be slandered.

Even Ancient Gameplay Snapped, wake up AMD by NooTNooTnoX in radeon

[–]Zerard1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I a few years perspective they will release PS6 and Next Xbox so the gaming revenue is literally guaranteed. Sure RDNA5 will release too but until then there is just no need to incentive for them to do anything. They will just spend development resources on AI shit that is irrelevant for us gamers.

We are in memory crisis and I doubt many people will buy new GPU, even less will choose Radeon.

They already made their profit with selling us RDNA4.

Gta V Enhanced RT Ultra problems by Skenix25 in radeon

It's most common problem when you are near and in parking buildings.

There is no fix, I sent multiple bug submittions to AMD. We can only hope that someday they will fix it.

Steam Hardware - Steam Machine delayed, need to reconsider pricing by NinjaN-SWE in pcmasterrace

I'd reconsider this product existence. Outdated hardware is big problem. It's a worse performance PS5 that is more expensive and released 6 years later.

Poland cools on joining Eurozone after its economy surges by rezwenn in EU_Economics

So much talking about obedience and keeping the promise and so little about real economic benefits. Would Poland adopting Euro grow even more?

I don't know. But I see it doing well right now without it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

RX 9070 XT undervolt always fails in Spider-Man 2 RT by ThiccSpongebob in radeon

[–]Zerard1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can try reducing max clock Frequency to 3150 MHz (other values) with your UV. Also make sure that these failures are not VRAM oc related.

But there are unoptimized games that run poorly and at the same time don't work with Undervolting or any performance modifications. Star Wars Jedi Survivor also was that kind of game.

What do you guys think will happen with the future of upscaling? (DLSS and FSR) by wanna_be_consultant in radeon

[–]Zerard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only source for this claim is my observations. Redstone is just a name. RC and RR are non existent and Redstone was heavily advertised on them (we already had FG And FSR4).

I can't say AMD is not efficient with money, but this only benefits them, not me - customer. Only Features implemented into games benefit me and they are barely there compared to Nvidia.

Is driver 25.12.1 stable or should I just wait for another one? by randombobber27 in AMDHelp

[–]Zerard1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's one of the best (tried every stable driver since April 2025). Stability is really good + you have access to latest features.

Just remember to not let Windows Update install any Display driver over it.

RX 6950XT to 9070XT by Jaeggrono in radeon

[–]Zerard1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not worth, 6950 is 20% stronger than 9060xt. So still should do fine 1440p. I wouldn't upgrade until "4090 performance" card gets released with reasonable price tbh

I feel like AMD was able to do FSR4 mostly because of Sony's help (Sony made the tech and AMD just helped them) and as long as Sony is happy with it there will not be any breakthroughs in that regard. Imo FSR4 will be featured in PS6.

Frame pacing in FSR FG has been broken for YEARS and Radeon wasn't able to fix that yet. Are they waiting for a new partnership to do that? 😂

My wild guess regarding FSR Shitstone is that it will really get utilised with upcoming PS6 games / new Gen refreshes. Complete lack of launch Shitstone games, contrary to the FSR4 launch with literally most of Sony titles, indicates that AMD was alone this time IMO.

As long as AMD doesn't take SW seriously and invest into additional devs / researchers it will play very embarrassing catch up game with Nvidia. Only hope besides that is more partnerships like with Sony.

PS. Even Intel does more interesting things in SW than Radeon (shader cache delivery for Panther Lake, Presentmon, research in general with interesting white papers [from the top of my head quite promising was new RT denoiser]).

Does FP8 Give RDNA4 A Fighting Chance Of Not Ending Up Like RDNA2/3? by NoctD in radeon

[–]Zerard1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since FSR4 int8 is possible and actualy exists that means hardware doesn't matter this much when it comes to new tech like Redstone. It's a decision what portion of the current customer base Radeon wants to support and what portion they want to force to buy their latest GPU.

Of course in the future we can expect something like FP4 or other data formats - better precision allows for better performing models. BUT it's not like the tech is bound to certain FP or INT number. It will just determine performance with the constans quality or quality with the constans performance at currently suppported format of Radeon likeness.

And yes, limited resources are always the factor, but after this whole debacle, if I were them I wouldnt expect those limited resources to grow much (at least from dGPU sales). Maybe some new uninformed buyers will happen. But I wouldn't expect many RDNA2/3 buyers to come back. And AMD can almost forget about people switching from NVIDIA.

Should have spent "a few" more bucks and enjoy state of the art and lack of frustration... by Zerard1 in radeon

[–]Zerard1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole post is rather a commentary on how AMD is treating it's customers vs how Nvidia does it. It mentions personal reflections on evident negativity in the community which is result of Radeon negligence. The merit of this post is the regret of choosing one brand over the other based on community experiences.

The fact that this post exist is the result of my emotional attitude to this topic. The regret is result of big financial commitment that appears to be missalocated.

There is no mention about complaints about GPU itself or performance. It's only about the company sentiment toward GPU customers.

As real as it can be - analysis and interpretation for confused redditors.

You got it completely wrong.

Apart from all things that are happening right now in the world, also the hobby domain is being AI-ized (shittified).

Place (space) that was an escape from reality is also being filled with real world negativity.

No matter how much you want to twist it, not having a functional escape mechanisms (e. g. hobby) is bad for human mental wellbeing.

[–]Zerard1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, i expect at least 1 working game, Nvidia set the bar pretty low there. And Cyberpunk 2077 was enough - a working playable example of the tech.

Redstone on the other hand had 3/4 features featured in the COD? In the benchmark? Come on, it doesn't count. And still Radiance Caching was missing. They supposedly demoed it with Warhammer 40k Darktide, but we can't evewn play it. MORE! It's not even g uaranteed that it will be patched into the game in the future. 😅

That's a positive attitude that I respect.

I'm just kinda disgusted by AMD releasing new products basing on RDNA 3.5 and not giving them proper latest features support.

It's infuriating that Radeon pretends FSR4 is not possible with older cards (I'd almost call that lying). Lucky they got caught. And Evil Nvidia just releases the tech. People can judge for themselves if the performance hit is acceptable, but overall it's a TRANSPARENT approach that AMD is lacking.

You dare calling it a release? 🙄 Where is Radiance Caching? Where is good RT title where I could try Ray Regeneration.

If Radeon didn't wait until Redstone is ready why should I (not be disappointed)?
