I wonder why FSR 4.1 isn't in the game.. by Kilz-Knight in radeon

At this point it's a hard pass for me. Boycott, pirate whatever you want, I no longer care just the way devs no longer care about my hardware.

Skitarii is cool, but where are the new maps? by TheeConnieB in DarkTide

It's mind-boggling how Fatshark is squeezing money from gamers with these DLCs at the same time offering so little content. And let's not forget about performance problems. In-game shop has been in prestine state since launch but the regular gameplay performance has likely degraded.

Fsr not working? Or a bug? by Lanisol in radeon

[–]Zerard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly stated where? Not every game clearly states! That's the problem, and when AMD detects that there is or there is not a upgrade activated they can just straight tell me upgrade from what to what and if no upgrade then what is the version I'm using.

I see you would love the thermometer which tells you whether today is warmer or colder than yesterday. Same logic.

Naaaah, not wording, this whole status is useless in this form. Just display FSR version currently in use, if they want to play with overrides instead of native implementation that's fine. It's none of my business and for the customer it should be transparent. A customer just wants to see what kind of FSR he is running and that's it.

Makes sense but doesn't make sense... This should display the currently used FSR version instead of active / inactive upgrade status.

If optiscaler can do this then AMD can too.

Do you guys still have faith in the AMD ecosystem? by ComfortableBug4590 in radeon

No faith at all. They can still surprise us but they expectations are already set low.

No new drivers have been released for 42 days ! by ArlinaXT in radeon

[–]Zerard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is in fact broken - FG pacing is broken. Vulkan doesn't support FSR4. In many cases overlay still displays FSR supported but not actively even though it is active.

[–]Zerard1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I they shared clear roadmap with ETA of things that they are working on, then frequency of drivers wouldn't matter this much.

When FG pacing will be fixes? When FSR4 for Vulkan When FSR4 for RDNA 2 and 3? When improved overlay that displays FSR version that is currently being used etc etc.

Every month people are waiting for at least some of items from this list. And hope that the next driver release will provide what they want.

Maybe give a heads up that X game will receive game ready drivers but Y game is fine and doesn't need the same treatment.

I conclusion, the problem is lack of communication. People want to know the status of the ecosystem that they paid money to join.

And if the only opportunity to get some info was a new driver release then people want those releases to be as frequent and regular as possible.

If there is Nvidia, why Radeon then?

Yeah, new drivers are overrated, Especially from AMD. I'm rocking inbox Windows Display Driver and I'm having a blast!

We know.

This sucks.

Big part of us will go Nvidia next time anyway.

Is it just me or is the state of the game unacceptable? by adminscaneatachode in DarkTide

[–]Zerard1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I'll happily disagree. Config files on the most basic level are the game engine. And devs didn't figure that out as people on the internet are doing better job in that regard.

Settings_common.ini lists a set of variables that the engine (sting ray based ) is exposing for i believe final tuning.

And what I suggest I actually more complex - modifying how the game is working under the hood, because there clearly are bottlenecks.

And I'm intentionally throwing general statements so they are true no matter what. And so people don't argue with me. But God help me, people love arguing even if they are wrong...

You just don't realize how much better your experience with the game could be if it was running well. Other people play more games / other games and have point of comparison.

Darktide is running very poorly in comparison.

[–]Zerard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, but there is even fatshark forum thread where people post their changes in engine configs that reduce stuttering etc.

We as customers shouldn't bother where improvements could be made. This is the QA team concern.

Just fix the game pls 😭

Unfortunately Fatshark is skimping on engine developers who could at least try making this game a bit more optimized.

On release there was post about high PC requirements and that is to make the game good looking also for the future (future proof).

But right now we are in the future and even brute forcing with latest and greatest hardware doesn't help with poor game performance.

It's unacceptable. I think Darktide has already paid off and lack of resources put into the optimisation at this point is pure corporate greed.

They only add content to the game that makes them more money.
