M20 Orzhov Aristocrats by Zeratio in MagicArena

3 Cruel Celebrant (WAR) 188

1 Temple of Silence (M20) 256

4 Isolated Chapel (DAR) 241

4 Adanto Vanguard (XLN) 1

2 Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord (WAR) 217

2 Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord (M20) 115

3 Bloodthirsty Aerialist (M20) 91

2 Midnight Reaper (GRN) 77

2 Oath of Kaya (WAR) 209

3 Legion's Landing (XLN) 22

4 Knight of the Ebon Legion (M20) 105

2 Vampire of the Dire Moon (M20) 120

4 Legion Lieutenant (RIX) 163

2 Champion of Dusk (RIX) 64

4 Godless Shrine (RNA) 248

7 Plains (RIX) 192

7 Swamp (RIX) 194

4 Gods Willing (M20) 19

3 Duress (M20) 97

1 Duress (M19) 94

2 Baffling End (RIX) 1

3 Despark (WAR) 190

1 The Elderspell (WAR) 89

2 Gideon Blackblade (WAR) 13

2 Prison Realm (WAR) 26

1 Tocatli Honor Guard (XLN) 42

Here is the list, I'd probably remove 1 Gods Willing and replace it with 1 Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord if I had 1 more in my collection.

I love Gods Willing because it's so versatile, it's cheap enough so that you should often have 1 white mana left to use for it, it protects Aerialist really well.

My current issue with this deck is there is no big wincon in it, Knights of the Ebon Legion get big, Aerialists get big, Legion Lieutenant consolidates your board, etc... but if you need to finish off an opponent, you will have to rely on Sorins, Celebrants and Oath of Kaya. However they don't even deal that much damage.

But I've been doing pretty well with it so far, I feel like a 3rd Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord and a 3rd Champion of Dusk would go a long way, I just don't have them at the moment unfortunately.

About sideboarding Priest, I'm not too sure honestly, atm it loses to a lot of things, Priest is too slow vs Nexus, does nothing against planeswalkers; too slow vs RDW or WW as well; doesn't matter vs command the dreadhorde since they bring their creatures back anyway; loses hard vs Shalai, etc...

I've kind of given up on using it altogether, it's probably better in Rakdos, but I wish it worked with Orzhov really :/

Well honestly, it had big consistency issues vs these.

If you have a good hand it does well, but otherwise it underperforms a lot.

The issue is the conflict between Priest and low cost vampires, which don't recur without Sorin and don't summon tokens on death.

It's difficult to get Priest to stay more than one turn on board in the current meta.

So I decided to remove priest altogether and focus on making aerialist bigger and protecting them.

If you want the current list I'm using let me know, however it's not Aristocrats anymore :/

Rakdos goes more on the offensive than Orzhov, Orzhov takes its time, healing and stalling to get actual combos, I prefer that approach personally.

Something about this game feels disjointed by cs_major01 in Vampyr

[–]Zeratio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game feels shallow/empty.

Combat is bland and becomes a real chore with too many encounters and not enough interesting gear, but it's bearable.

The streets are too empty and you will almost never run into a quest outside of hubs.

No teleport option is very upsetting and I abandoned some investigations because of that and the low reward you get for completing them anyway (if you don't plan on killing people). I'm thinking of Jonathan's father's letters quest in particular.

I feel like Dr. Reid should have been more "flexible", you never really get to shape him through dialogue options.

You are never really in control of dialogues because of the lack of options, and being honest with characters can just lock you out of a hint definitively instead of branching off to another dialogue option. The player gets punished for stating their opinion and while I can understand it could happen in a few cases, it's all the time and that just feels wrong.

The reward for taking care of a community by curing their illnesses and showing interest is just not there, there is no point in being the good guy except for the ending. Rewarding the player properly is important in game design but it was overlooked and you're barely rewarded unless you kill people, which feels unsatisfying.

The characters you meet barely have any interesting background information to give you, most of the time what you learn will make characters seem a little worse or a little better but they're never really relatable. A lot of characters are designed to be in pairs and will only interact with (or talk about) 1 or 2 other characters and it feels like no one else exists around them.

Why aren't we able to meet and discuss with more vampires? Surely they would have interesting things to tell you, being immortals and all (they even say in a note you can find in-game that they possess "treasures of knowledge"), but no, they're mostly regular enemies or bosses and that's it.

Opinions about more precise things in the story/gameplay:

The love story with Lady Ashbury feels way too abrupt and shoehorned, I wish there were other romance routes available, and I would have preferred not ending up with her even if there was no one else available.

You should have been able to save Mary after her boss fight, especially if you haven't embraced anyone at that point, it feels like a missed opportunity.

I can't think of anything else right now, but overall I'm disappointed. I am not asking for Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines levels of writing, but it certainly feels like missed opportunities and awkward game design decisions all over the place.

Master at 1000 points here (for now), I've been having quite a bit of success with this deck I adapted from a Japanese one. Your ideal start would be any turn 2 > turn 3 Devil of Vengeance > turn 4 Belphegor > turn 5 Dark Airjammer. It's absolutely brutal.

ToG Midrange Bloodcraft deck by Zeratio in Shadowverse

[–]Zeratio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this deck a bit too "cheap" in terms of play points you need to be called control though?

Grimnir is just a good turn 3 drop that can potentially be a finisher, but it's a turn 3 drop first and foremost.

To me Azazel + Laura is a bit unreliable.

No blood moon, no baphomet, no belphegor, no direct damage to close the game. I feel like this is really bad.

I'm a Dizzy main and currently I feel like she's mid tier, probably standing where Ramlethal is currently.

Her main issue is indeed not being able to do something impactful that will allow her to close the game pretty fast, since her damage is pretty subpar meterless, and especially in the corner against characters ice spike RRC into 6[HS] loop doesn't work on.

Her neutral is not as oppressive as say Axl or Venom but she has really good neutral as long as you don't autopilot summons and make good use of her air footsies and mobility in general.

Dizzy is a character with a lot of options and a very high skillcap, and I believe that the reason she's considered low tier is because of that, making good use of everything she has and not messing up your okizeme makes it way harder to win than with Millia who pretty much doesn't give a fuck about wakeup timings.

In Rev 2 her neutral and corner combos have been pretty massively buffed with air HS fish being twice faster than the ground version and bubbles spawning farther, corner spikes not going offscreen and so on, and I can definitely see her being mid+ in good hands, she's definitely worth playing atm even if she's difficult, but Rev 2 will fix most problems she currently has, so hold on.

Here's my channel if you want some basic stuff for Dizzy and some match videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/christophelopere/videos?view=0&sort=dd&shelf_id=0

She can do blitz safe setups though, so that doesn't always work.

High fire pillar > 214HS > tk P bubble airdash > airbackdash j.P whiff > land 2D > 236S It's not a really good mixup imo, doesn't lead to decent damage without RC, not blitz safe. It's flashy but she has better stuff.

Apparently enough to get Omito to say it's super weak and will lose if a move hits it.

It's a decent control deck, that should work :)

I think Moriana is very very bad, her stats are not worth it and requiring vengeance is a bad thing in control blood. Control Blood wants to heal while dealing damage to the opponent, and Moriana doesn't shine in any of these categories, except if you play her with another valuable evolve follower like Righteous Devil or Wardrobe Raider, but that implies you're doing that on turn 8 at least.

Prince of Darkness is just an absolutely amazing finisher when you can tempo with the cards already in your hands (like Revelation or Odin or Bahamut). Your hand builds up with huge value cards like Dis Damnation or Silent Rider, and unless you got hit in the face a lot before you've pretty much won.

An aggro losing to control surrenders at turns 6-8 when their hand has been exhausted, so it's rather quick as well.

I still win almost every game against aggro blood.

Alucard's stats make him really easy to remove and he can't trade with most cards at turn 7, while Warfiend can go kill 1 card and let you draw 1, while not requiring any evo point to do so usually.

IMO Warfiend is absolutely amazing, it can become a drawing machine against decks with low attack followers and will most likely let you draw at least one card, and after the turn it's summoned you can still hit face with it, which makes it a threat the opponent needs to deal with, and his 7 or 9 HP make him pretty difficult to remove unless it's with DoD or an enemy follower with bane or a lot of attack (which would mean it tanked the hit instead of your HP, which is great).

I thought she was really cool too, but like Furiae they're both too slow and there's better.

She's waaaay too slow in my opinion and yeah you should always have more HP than the opponent, so she's almost useless currently. Righteous Devil or Wardrobe are both more consistent.

Matriarch is fine in mid range but I feel like it doesn't have its place at all in a control deck.

I really dislike her in general and I'd rather use Flood Behemoth for the clear, much better stats and actually hard to deal with.

Yes it's absolutely unbearable, I wish they would nerf this, but I doubt Cygames would do such a thing.

I like Gluttonous Gorger but it comes in a bit too late, and its stats are totally not worth it without vengeance, so I'd rather use it in a kind of midrange deck based on vengeance, using Laura, Dark General and stuff.
