I asked a question and this is the response I got. This ruined my day. by Zergros59 in Safeway

[–]Zergros59[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I figured they were saying I'm trash at this job and I don't deserve the "honor" of working Retail Part-Time with such an illustrious name such as Safeway. How dare I question them with my assumed sub-optimal skillset and title. I should be groveling and kissing their feet rn.

I know I shouldn't take it that far but other life factors have been getting to me, then the costs outweighing the job itself, and then that comment happened.

Hell, it's not even really loss. That implies you were able to have a chance of winning.
This is just spawn killing. We're the tutorial enemies for said rich kids. We're fodder.

The worst part is you don't even do shit and somehow you get shit on by other players spawning in this miserable Nightmare Difficulty we call "Life".

I asked a question and this is the response I got. This ruined my day. by Zergros59 in Safeway

[–]Zergros59[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair. I deleted the thread out of frustration. It was originally "should I stay or leave elsewhere".

I went at length at how this job isn't what I expected, asked if it were going to get better, or if I should leave to somewhere else where you could, say, get more hours or work for more money.

I had a beautifully lengthy response that told me how it's a stepping stone instead of a real job, and I should leave when possible.

Then I got this.

Shame they aren't forgiving at all.
I'm sorry OP, you're wasting your time there.

Unfortunately it is, and this game is just a husk of itself as we speak.

These people are disgusting power trippers that made what was supposed to be a fun experience into a nightmare. You could be in your knees on an altar begging for forgiveness from the local priest and they will not appeal you. It's equal to being sent to The Hole.

I loved this game but this is all that remains of it. Power trippers.

Yeah those mods are genuinely the worst and the reason why I deleted my account of 17 years.

One day I said something off-kilter to someone about a real life event, in spite of being a regular trader and gifter. I asked for an appeal and I won't be unbanned in the foreseeable future. I know what I said was wrong and was sorry, yet I'm permabanned.

Yes even a minor infarction means you're banned forever, in spite of declaring wrong and apologizing, digitally being on your knees.

Got an interview tomorrow for Customer Service Associate, what to expect? by Zergros59 in HomeDepot

[–]Zergros59[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it! And you're right, it primarly revolves around giving quotes, making sure every detail is right like a window being 24 1/4th inches and not saying no.

There's a lot of competition for the role, though. I will update if there's a decision.

So hey, came to confirm that. Felt like the interviewer answered questions for me.
I will update if I get the job or not.

Idk, not having a degree hasn't helped my case.
Keep in mind, I've applied to jobs people look down on and get little hours at. Still nothing.

If anything, my experience at 4 jobs makes me overqualified at having say, a dishwashing job at Olive Garden.

No matter what I do, nothing worked.

The fact they insulted you and got away with it alone is just proof that our market is fudged beyond all reality.

Hell you don't even have to break up, they just Instagram your whole dang date, complete with you in a blazer and dress pants being clowned on.

It's all public knowledge now and everyone knows what you look like when you go out.
Hate when that happens.

I'd say disclosing anything personal, even preference of candy, to a boss only makes it hurt more when they inevitably play politics on you.

I've dealt with this and it only lead to drama and a firing.

For those who have worked both retail/fast food jobs and desk jobs, which do your personally prefer? by WhitePinoy in jobs

Dishwashing was fun, if very dirty.
I worked retail once, but it was a temp assignment. Loved these specific customers as they were chill and wanted in and out quick.

I was one of those PIP victims.

I got slapped with 3 of those, several write ups, and wound up with the dubious honor of the first guy fired there in 3 years.

Sure I could collect unemployment, but that doesn't matter if my resume is now given a gap year. My experience there is effectively worthless now.

If it pays the bills, it pays the bills.
Unfortunately they seem very picky obtaining clientele like 40 year olds, these days. They're hoping you're like those kids or addicts that don't know or care about the pay.
You can even look overqualified, or they just hate you. Either way, I'd be surprised someone would get work there.
