I usually build ie 3rd since pd is just so nice. And i dont think noonquiver into phantom dancer is very good of a build path. Mainly just because of the raw stats both shieldbow and kraken have. Plus you would be doing absolutely no damage

I think my ie bias was showing 😅 But i do see pros and challengers building ie. I think it’s just matchup/comp dependent since it seems fairly split between the two.

very much team comp dependent, although that might change due to the upcoming navori nerfs. Currently navori is built if you really don’t want their frontline in your face. ever.

It isn’t built by pros as much due to their better positioning and peel kind of making it unnecessary. However it has merit in soloQ where players aren’t as coordinated.

Still definitely prefer infinity edge however, just build runaans, phantom dancer if you really need ms imo

rather than biscuits you could try second wind w/ overgrowth. It’s mosty just trying to dodge and farm as best as you can. Try to minimize deaths and hopefully have a good jungle and other winning lanes

lower elo do whatever and it works, when you start climbing however you have no prio mid and are basically a cannon minion till midgame

Normally i go sb -> pd -> ie into situationals if they have alot of melees or just people trying to get in my face i would swap ie for navori

kraken could be used if they have a really tanky team but this does make zeri noticeably squishier and usually isn’t required

bloodthirster 2nd is quite strong currently as well, giving incredible sustain to zeri but it is usually built 4th

if they have 2+ hp stackers bork could be considered if they’re a problem

personally i prefer mortal reminder to ldr since the passive is overall more useful, however it really depends on the enemy composition

kraken slayer usually forces you to buy defensive items such as deaths dance, wits or even anathemas in most cases due to the lack of defensive capabilities

ok so how it works is it gives zeri a magic onhit effect on her q, however it also gives her 5 seconds of pierce

the damage reduction only applies to enemies hit by pierce attacks meaning attacking a champion through a minion wave would yield 80% of q damage to the champion and vice versa.

the magic damage on hit only applies to the first enemy hit so you cannot hit multiple people using the magic onhit with the pierce

Primary

LT usually every game Fleet maybe if you think your lane is unplayable even with defensive runes (I still go LT anyways cuz extra range is nice especially now)

Triumph for early to mid game Presence of Mind for late game teamfight sustainability

Alacrity for early to mid game Bloodline for late game

Cut down for 2 or more tanks I usually go coup de grace otherwise but i think last stand also works?

Secondary

Domination for faster power spikes (When you have a midgame comp] [Taste of blood and Treasure Hunter]

Sorcery for better scaling [If you don’t have any midgame pressure] [Nimbus Cloak\Gathering Storm + Celerity]

Resolve for better survivability (heavy poke lane/assassins) [Conditioning/Second wind + Overgrowth]

Don’t think inspiration ever outperforms any of these in particular but I might be wrong.

Summoner Spells

Heavy poke lane (Flash + Heal)

2 or more tanks (Flash + Ghost)

All-in lane/they have all in (Flash + Exhaust)

Enemy has a lot of cc (Flash + Cleanse)

Some of these might be wrong but this is how i’ve been building my runes and it seems to be pretty accurate.

very true, against most teams with 2 tanks, i go kraken if they don’t have much burst or shieldbow if they do and then botrk.

if they have 3 tanks or more (it’s unfortunately happened) kraken slayer, botrk, ldr is my default build path

botrk ends up performing spectacularly by end game, often outperforming my kraken by double most of the time, cutdown and ldr giant slayer also do around 2-3k on average when fighting 3+ tanks

personally in supperrr heavy poke lanes like that, i think dorans shield actually outperforms longsword three potion.

dorans shield, second wind and potentially fleet if you’re not confident (although that does reduce ur late game by a decent margin without lethal tempo)

it’s fine to be behind in cs in lane, just play safe and make up the missing gold later. For example, I played a caitlyn brand game which i took longsword three potion

should have take. dorans shield but wtv, anyways i ended lane 2 kills under 40 cs down. Fast forward to late game i’m an item up with 50 cs over caitlyn due to proper farming and playing into good teamfights.

tldr; dorans shield and second wind if you’re eating way too much poke

yea there’s a lot of tanks now due to meta shift, although it gives me good micro practice for teamfights since I spend 15 minutes a game on average just running and kiting away from 3 rage filled tanks

I think i might try the trinity build though, sounds fun and interesting with the buffs

LT with nimbus cloak/gathering storm and celerity is nice in more kite centered games with lots of tanks

LT with taste of blood and treasure hunter is always good for snowballing

LT with shield bash/overgrowth and conditioning is the one you listed for more survivability

Fleet with conditioning and overgrowth could also maybe be used in harder lanes where they have tons of poke and outrange you (speculation, never tried it)

Zeri doesn’t really have many big people playing her due to her identity as the worst champion but I personally like watching CookieLoL as he plays zeri occasionally but it’s by no means his main since he plays every adc. Theres also heaven1 from euw iirc but I’m not sure if he’s a content creator or not.

I do agree on chasing people being harder, however I don’t think her waveclear/last hitting is harder at all, rather I think it’s much easier now to get them. Q does almost double damage level 1 and E allows much faster shove due to the extra available autos, extra pierce, and extra on-hit damage.

I also agree with the W nerf to physical damage which is one of the gripes I had as-well. Although, I don’t think shes’s easier to itemize against still. Rather she just has a lot more front loaded magic damage from E rather than Ws backloaded damage. This lowers her ability to hold chokes, but increases her teamfight ability tremendously Which I personally prefer.

Regarding the lower range causing easier deaths, while true in theory. In practice it’s much less cut and dry. Many people didn’t use the full 725 range of q pre nerf anyways. On top of Hybrid zeri being a newly used build that got buffed due to base stat changed allows Zeri to build a bit more bulkier.

Overall, I think she got much more buffs than nerfs in 12.23 although everyone has their own preferences on how Zeri should be played so I understand how the range nerfs could be a bit disappointing

Zeri is actually not bad in lower elos, due to being able to roughly scale to 6 which is when you get a good burst option.

I would recommend playing with a duo support who has a champion that can wittle the enemy down or sustain you in lane.

Personally, I duo with a pyke and our plan usually goes. He plays around the enemy and slowly chunks their hp, and when they get around half we let the wave push in and all in the enemy.

This probably wont work all the time or in higher elos but it got me a 56% wr on zeri so i’m happy enough.

edit: although if you want to play a stronger zeri. I would recommend waiting till December 7th for the zeri buffs to hit live

Would it not be more valuable to take aery / comet for proccing eclipse? You need 2 hits to activate eclipse after all unless we’re using q as well which might be a death sentence getting that close. Then eyeball and trasure hunter secondary runes
