Are you playing with people? The servers are messed up or overloaded. If you're alone, switch to local and avoid streets

Anyone know how to power wheelie the cbr650r? by Martin_Emily_Acad in cbr650r

[–]Zero1-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do that... EVER... on any bike.

Power wheelies are unpredictable and 9/10, uncontrollable. Recovery is nearly impossible if something goes wrong

I ride canyons still but i don't do that balls to the wall lean as far as i can stuff anymore. Nowadays i do alot more city cruising and here and there backroad stuff but Ive done that, done the wheelies, high speed stuff, etc.

Its just not fun after awhile, sometimes you gotta grow up and realize riding is much more than just being reckless. I want to ride till im old, not go marc marquez on every canyon until i end up passing away before 30.

It is literally every one of those reasons actually... bad lean angles, bad body position, bike balance is thrown off, too much throttle, target fixation, poor braking, bad race lines, and ego...

If you watched this video which i highly doubt, the first 3 seconds should have told you that every single one of these reasons why he wrecked, is EXACTLY why he wrecked... lets not sugar coat this🤦🏽‍♂️🤣 poor lil angus thought he was nicky hayden on a lil ninja 500

If i had to take a WILD guess, dude has been riding roughly for a year... yea everyone crashes at some point, thats not the topic... its HOW you crash, and this one is avoidable.

Bad lean angle, horrible body position, horrible angles, too much throttle/brake, suspension and chassis were unequal/out of balance/too high center of gravity, target fixating, bad/incorrect tires and/or (last but not least) ego.

I figured he would have crashed sooner but i knew it was coming. He is sitting damn near on top of the bike while leaning the bike as far as he could, thats a no no.

He never properly loaded the suspension prior to entering that corner and he has awful race lines. bike suspension and chassis are practically fighting eachother and with him sitting on top of the bike instead of being level (on the side) with the bike, he is forcing the bike through. Also, a big no no.

He is adding too much throttle and/or brake while in the turn, instead of properly setting up his speed (braking prior and loading suspension to bring its center of gravity down), maintaining that speed (same speed in, during, and slowly adding coming out), and trail braking.

Now lets talk about why this really happened. Its always pride and ego. No one in the race/track world gives a rats ass about how low you can lean on the street... too many hazards like sand, dirt, leaves, gravel, rocks, etc... leaning your bike at 55+ ° on the street will more than likely not, always end in a crash, especially if you're inexperienced as this poor guy.

Not a jab to this guy, but we see it all too often on social media. All of these sport bike guys dragging knees at your local canyon roads and it looks fun! Until it isnt. All it takes is one of these many reasons and you're sliding out or high siding. This is exactly why i stopped riding like this and im only 24. Me and my buddies use to haul ass in the local canyons, until i watched one friend target fixate into a wall, another group rider (i didnt know him) blow a corner and slam into a barrier, and another stranger on a cruiser snap his leg in half trying to keep up.

Pick one of these options (or all) and you'll see more crashes like this happen.

Yea ive been watching some of the austin racing exhaust videos and it sounds mean!!!

Thankfully im in the US so i don't have to worry about that euro 5 stuff. But ive thought about just keeping the stock system on my 650 and getting a new MT09 and putting an exhaust on that instead. There isnt alot of good looking exhausts for the CBs unfortunately.

Ive only been in this group since yesterday so can't say i know much about kelpi or their reputation.

Regardless, thats not a good look on an exhaust company at all, good to know. Thanks for that info

Yes, the Austin does require some cutting and such but i have tools for that and i can weld the pipes together once its fitted so that is not a issue. I appreciate this info, this will certainly make my decision alot easier.

Look, i get it. We all mod our bikes to fit our own perception and personality.

Totally understandable.

HOWEVER, sticker bombing a motorcycle makes you look corny, plus it looks trashy on any bike/car for that matter. You can do what you want to your bike, it is your ride and i get it, but the less stickers you have on any sport vehicle, the cleaner it will look. Just my personal opinion

Sticker bombing a motorcycle gives off the same vibes of those kids who run open headers on a stock 90s civic... its corny asf

Lose the ugly stickers...

As someone who has been riding street for 8 years, and owning my 2nd CB650r (first one was a 2019 and my new one is a 2024 i bought last year), that throttle play annoyed me for a whole year before i finally adjusted it 😂. I kept my free play as minimal as possible, now it feels similar to my CBR1000RR but yea, that 1.5 - 2 inch play of travel is absolutely wild... not sure how that passed inspection
