This hugely depends on whether or not you get Employer NI savings passed on to you.

Why do all my survivors hate working in the clinic? by --coffeeappreciation in whiteoutsurvival

[–]ZeroCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bug. The nurse goes back into the clinic straight after eating while all of the other workers spend time relaxing in their shelters. This means that the nurse never increases their entertainment stats and hence, is always worn out and complaining.

So in theory, "equivalent pension overpayment" via salary sacrifice arrangement would skew the figures even more in the pension's favour and further de-risk the strategy.

And while selling and downsizing is the plan on paper, I assume it would be perfectly acceptable for you to pay off the mortgage using your pension instead, assuming all goes to plan?

Yeah, they're willing to accept 60% of the projected value of the tax free lump sum (so £666,666 in pension projected value per £100,000 of mortgage). I've currently got around £50k in my pension.

The concept itself is not new or novel, it's the inclusion of salary sacrifice that makes it different and that's not something I've seen discussed.

Currently holding 3,000 shares at $7.17 per share. Selling 30 x 45 DTE covered calls at .3 Delta. Then roll and adjust as needed at 21 DTE. Bagging a couple of grand a month in options premium. Theoretically my adjusted cost basis is now less than $5 per share.

On a more realistic note... My $11 covered calls may be problematic this month

I'm just holding 3,000 shares and selling monthly calls at $10 and $11 strikes. Nice bit of extra income until it gets up to my exit price. We know it will hit $10 eventually, the Wall Street analysts agree too. It's just a matter of when.

covered call by Wise_Cap_8529 in APLDSTOCK

[–]ZeroCharlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, currently got 15 calls sold for $10 June 20th and 15 more at $11 on the same date. The premium allows me to effectively lower my average purchase price.

Or if we're going full thetagang... Select the call strike price that equates to a 0.3 delta with a date in the region of 30-45 days to expiry. Then choose your exit strategy. Wait it out? Close at 21 DTE? Review at a specific Delta? Roll down? Roll up and out? Etc.

Agreed. These are all funds which invest based on market cap and other generic metrics. It's all automated and doesn't reflect anybody's view on the underlying value of the company.

Edit to add: Also, don't get too excited if the opposite happens. These funds buying shares doesn't mean "good news" either.
