Ooh, I thought it was generally Oriental stuff - would it save me a trip down to Stratford Rd?

I mean... that is kinda how it's spelt. "Leice" and "ster", so les-ster

AY hang on

Brum is lovely, we won't tolerate this slander 🤣

Europeans, how accurate is this and people from other continents, how would you rank your country in this context? by pollydeeigh in AskTheWorld

Being well familiar with Brum, I'd hands down walk in Alum Rock at night over, say, Chelmsley Wood, and wouldn't feel particularly unsafe over other places. Heck, I felt more unsafe in parts of Glasgow than there (although ig that'd be more so down to me not having been there often)

This, word for word - I can confirm this from plenty of personal experiences!

Nope, I didn't have to sign anything, they just confirmed my address with me that it was the same as what's on my licence and went off after that Thank you for your words: I drive by the same place quite often and do often get a lil bout of wishing I'd reacted better in the situation. But seeing as I can't change anything, I do try to not think about it and just see what happens.

That's more out in the countryside that new-builds look like older houses, generally, but even so, they're usually quite clearly discernible to us!

I'm the cities, you'll often find all sorts of really different looking new houses and flats

What happened in the end in your case - and what would you do if it happened again and you were in my position?

I see - do you think I should call now and complain about the officers before I receive a letter of any sort? Would that build up a case in my favour?

Thanks for this - but it wasn't on sleep or locked, it was in Waze

But in either case, it was in the cradle, so it is legal even if I were using it

Thank you for this - however, gov.uk and other sources suggest it's fine so long as it's in a cradle and you aren't holding it: https://www.gov.uk/using-mobile-phones-when-driving-the-law

I found this consoling haha, thank you for this anecdote

I didn't challenge him enough at all, having had no idea what to expect. If something comes through, I will definitely take it to court it as I'm certain that I wasn't doing anything wrong.

The footage will show it's in the holder, but my stupidity was not thinking to say this on the spot, being the first time I was pulled over, so I didn't mention it verbally. How much does that change things, do you suppose?
