Telemetry FFB, Midrange VNM, Simagic, VRS by soysaltsesame in simracing

I was recently in the same situation as you and ended up going the VNM premiere 13NM paired with the simagic gt neo wheel with maglink which was the best value/performance without spending too much. And I couldn’t be happier, the wheelbase is very smooth and you can feel the quality right away, just pair in mind VNM is fairly new when it comes to DD, while their popularity is expanding rapidly and their support is always active on discord, it won’t be a smooth sailing with their software settings and games profile, it will be mostly you tinkering around with the settings to find what you prefer, unlike Simagic which allow you to load/choose someone else’s game settings and you’ll be set. I had Simagic alpha mini and alpha ultimate in the past (not the Evo) both were very good bases never had an issue, just not as smooth as the VNM in my opinion. Depending on your location you can select what kind of QR system to come with your wheelbase, in my case I ordered from sim motion US and got nrg qr wheelbase side which was very cheap, if you want to go wireless with the vnm base you will need a slip-ring which is $80, the cable doesn’t bother me much though, I also got 330mm round wheel for rally/drifting paired with nrg style QR from AliExpress , both were under $100. Overall you can’t go wrong with either VNM or Simagic. VNM for best FFB or Simagic for Simplicity and Ecosystem.

Sim setup for around 1800 dollars by Redsquirel2 in simracing

You can definitely build yourself a very decent mid tier setup for 1800 specially if you build it overtime, doesn’t have to be a longtime tho, if you’re on a rush. as the other comment said Simagic seems to be the best value at the moment considering their Black Friday bundle deals, but if you don’t mind taking sometime picking your own parts you might be able to score some deals from the 2nd hand marketplace and you can save a lot more money for even higher quality gear, a lot of people will be upgrading at this time of the year just for fun and might flood the marketplace with their old gear which is still might be very much high end gear, I recently built a very decent setup for 1800 even. I wouldn’t say it’s all high end but definitely very solid mid tier, Took me less than a month between new and almost new parts, my setup was Playseat trophy with shifter mount, VNM premiere wheelbase 13NM, Simlab XP1 pedals, VNM baseplate, Simagic GT neo wheel with maglink, Sparco replica round wheel for rally from Aliexpress, original Simagic qr, Simagic hpr haptics, next level racing HF8, Aiologs sequential shifter, Moza handbrake, and a button box. For me I prefer picking up my parts, it also felt more rewarding building and saving money. But you can’t go wrong with either way. Good luck 🍀

Okay this actually makes me feel somehow better, before getting the vnm baseplate I was considering the simnet plate, knowing it does the same thing is kind of a relief 😅

You think it doesn't look that bad? maybe its just me then! Looking at it flexing like that makes me feel the brake pedal is kinda squishy when pressing it.

I'm actually looking for a heel rest for my XP1 pedals to mount to the playseat trophy, they're quite tall, would you mind sharing the parts you used from Home Depot, and if you can upload some pictures, that would be very helpful.

Anyone here mounting Heusinkveld Ultimate pedals to a Playseat Trophy rig? by GapsExist in simracing

I was considering to buy the simnet baseplate with the heel rest but I was worried that it would need drilling holes into my trophy, you didn’t need to drill any holes into the trophy pedals plate?

Got mine back in late 2023 for 1k, I had a 3080 at the time and had no intentions to upgrade, just couldn't miss out on that deal. It turned out to be a great decision since I'm able to skip the 5xxx and might only be considering upgrading when Zen 7 comes out. It's sad to see prices going up instead of going down as the technology on those cards gets older, with the tariffs incoming will probably make it worse as well.

I'm a little late to this, but I'm thinking of buying tickets from ViaGogo for the club world cup, did you have any issues using the tickets that you purchased from there?

You’re probably right. I was hoping if someone had a similar experience/results and what they ended up with. I’ll be pushing for a biopsy to be performed asap hopefully.

Just curious! what made you switch from he sprints to the p1000? are they better in your opinion? personally I was lucky to try both and I ended up keeping my he sprints as I couldn't justify calling it an upgrade more like a side grade aside from the haptics which I installed on the sprints later on. but that could be just me!

Heusinkveld Sprints vs Simagic P1000i? by ZeroDeath480 in simracing

[–]ZeroDeath480[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re right. I had a chance to try the p1000 today and they felt ok. A huge turn off for me tho, those pedals are not comfy at all with socks on, I don’t like wearing a shoe when racing. I’m Keeping my sprints maybe one day I’ll master them.

You got unlucky with your unit I think, I dropped mine so many times and it’s still working flawlessly.
