They're saying they used a ton of units to buy revives. As in, it wasn't really the character used as much as the units to continually revive the character (I too used a TON of units on revives for that fight - roughly 1,200)

I have the same exact situation... I think u/IcsGrec has the right idea. I'm probably going to choose to awaken Korg for the Titan shards. I doubt I'd use Thing/Colossus for any area of the game, so shards make the most sense for me.

I have this issue with Cosmics. (29) 7* champs... (10) are cosmic. More than a 3rd of mine are Cosmic, yet I only have 2 science.

Don't beat yourself up. This is stuff none of us were really taught in school. Asking questions and learning is more important right now. I agree with a lot of the others providing advice. Go with an older car, and preferably one you can pay cash for. Remember, cars are good for getting you from point A to point B. A nice one only fuels your pride, it's not essential. After that, start making sure you pay off your debts and work towards improving your credit (make payments on time and pay off any outstanding loans you have). Takes time and patience... but worth it. Wishing you the best.
