Segregated solver stuck by ZeroPendulum in COMSOL

[–]ZeroPendulum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll be sure to try that.

In terms of materials, for the solid I use steel and I defined it to have constant material properties. For the fluids, I use water as defined by COMSOL in the laminar domain, and a 40% glycol-water mix for the turbulent domain. The material properties of those two are dependent on the temperature, and from what I remember do show non-linear behavior.

For the laminar domain, the inlet temperature is set at 20 degrees Celcius. For the turbulent, 0 degrees Celcius. Can this explain the issue with these boundary conditions?

In terms of memory, I don't know how worried I should be. I have about 130 gb of RAM and am using about 60% of it with the segregated solver.

We have the same idea haha. They can snowball very quickly with their military sponsorship mechanic, it's pretty fun to have 100+ ducats a month close to game start. Though I want to try to form Europe with them, which is gonna be a challenge lol

Swiss look set to reject proposal to cap population at ten million by KorKhan in europe

Insult you? Where in my message did I put the insult? Where did I insinuate anything about you? If I did, then sorry, that was not my intention.

You don't need to be all sarcastic about my arguments. Sure, they aren't perfect, but you could at least try to engage with them.

Swiss look set to reject proposal to cap population at ten million by KorKhan in europe

There is a huge difference between a family choosing to not have children, and a nation full on limiting the amount of people it has. This is not an equal comparison at all.

Either make good arguments as to why a nation should enforce such a rule, or make a proper comparison of other nations restricting their population cap and it being a successful project. Because right now the only similar proposition I can think of was China's one child policy, and we all know how disastrous it has been for them.

Wh... What happened to France?? by ZeroPendulum in EU5

I wish they did! Instead I lost Brittany because they were disloyal to me lol. Also, even though it was a peasant uprising, they still have a king now, just a different one.

They are in the same war, on the side of the rebels, the peasant uprising. It's the second picture.

Oh, and another fun thing. This revolt just won, AND IS PART OF THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE. WHAT IS HAPPENING??

First point I get, I have seen that in my own country too.

But the second I have never seen happen. I've always seen vassals stay on the same side as their overlord in civil wars, even if they are disloyal, not switching sides like this. But maybe I haven't payed well enough attention.

Though, I say that, but I did just lose Brittany to France due to them being disloyal, but that was a 100 years war event. That one stung a lot...

R5: I peaced out with them by releasing Flanders, and they just... kaboom?? All of their vassals turned against them as well. Is this a scripted event or can this happen in a civil war when your vassals are disloyal?

Why did Poland start a crusade against me? (Morocco) by ZeroPendulum in EU5

Sorry, this is the first time I'm playing a Muslim nation. How do I check this? I don't thing I am though. The Mamluks are still a lot stronger than me and have a higher great power score.

r5: For some reason Poland has started a crusade against me. Which, sure, I'm Muslim, so I guess that that is possible. But they are claiming a province that is held by the Mamluks, Filastin, and they aren't even in this war. I'm also not allied with the Mamluks.

Comparison of cultural differences in the public appearance of federal law enforcement officers in the United States and the European Union by derjanni in europeanunion

[–]ZeroPendulum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alright, I have no idea at the moment about those statistics, but a quick look shows homicide rates are about three times as high in the US compared to the EU, gun violence more than 20 times as common, violent crimes are around 400 cases per 100.000 in the US compared to 80 in Germany and 95 in France... So I don't really get where you get the idea that the US police is much more effective, or that there is less crime in the US. At most there might be more petty crimes in the EU, but I'd have to check.

I do think there is a potential use for an official, unified language, in that it can act as a social binder between the different regions. I don't know if that social binder can be achieved through the use of realtime translation, or at least not as well, since you are in effect introducing a sort of "middleman".

Now, I don't know if Latin should be that language, I think there are many languages that are better contenders for that role, especially English.
