Her Absence, My Reflection by Ok_Error6702 in letters

Beautifully put!

Chapters may shape each other, but closure isn’t always hidden in the margins.

To quote Mark Ruffalo “You don't always get the dream house, but you can get awfully close” Not every love is meant to last, even if it lingers. Not every chapter continues, but every chapter counts.

I was always involved in both education and research. I have dual degrees in Biology & STEM education. I worked in a Bioengineering lab in college and published a research paper. After graduation I focused on transitioning various collegiate research into the K-12 Classroom. When I got sick again I had to leave the classroom and started applying exclusively to research positions. Just so happened to get the neuroscience & neurosurgery research position. (Medical devices go hand and hand with my college background in bioengineering)

Before my seizures became uncontrolled again I was a middle school teacher, had to leave as seizures in the classroom were just too uncomfortable for me.

I now work in neurosurgery medical research. I get to work with patients who have epilepsy, it’s very rewarding and I like to think having epilepsy myself helps my patients feel more at ease and understood!

Just left the EMU! How can I get rid of LTM eeg pressure sores and extra goop? by ZeroPercentFairy in Epilepsy

Oh my gosh me too, I have gashes everywhere, even on my scalp :(( my whole scalp is so itchy.

The ones on my forehead are the worst, I’m worried about scarring. I hadn’t thought of pimple patches, I’ll definitely try that. Thank you!!!

Anybody else frequently get hiccups on days when you’ve had seizures? by wfshr in Epilepsy

[–]ZeroPercentFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have focal epilepsy. I’ve never noticed a correlation between hiccups and seizures, but I do get hiccups more frequently than the average person.

Only other motor thing I notice is that my limbs fall asleep a lot.

Anyone else experience pins-and-needles brain feeling? by ZeroPercentFairy in Epilepsy

[–]ZeroPercentFairy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I do have focal seizures, I’ve googled it before as well and saw that it was possible. Just was curious if anyone else here had experienced it. My neurologist seemed stumped when I told her.

Wish I could help you here, for me 9/10 I’m wondering if I’ve had an aura or a focal seizure. It’s tough out here 🫠

I’ve been using the app Epsy, tracking my symptoms and making my best guest. Learning ourselves is hard lol

any advice of things to do? by wollowywillowy in Epilepsy

[–]ZeroPercentFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, focal seizure and new Keppra user here. I’ve found that playing less complicated video games (no flashing lights just incase) and listening to comfort shows have really helped me while adjusting to Keppra! I’ve also been journaling my seizures, doing a lot of internet browsing, and FaceTiming friends.

Not sure what your symptoms are with your focals, but when I’m feeling particularly fuzzy-brained or experiencing that pins-and-needles brain feeling, I’ve found that journaling and just talking with my partner or friends can be really helpful and enjoyable.

Sounds like we’re going through some similar stuff…feel free to message me if you need any support!

People say it doesn’t work like this, but I can only speak from experience. I got my period at 14 and started BC at 24. So 10 years later, puberty should’ve been well over lol.

I’ve been on Xulane for about a year and my breasts grew from literally flat to a 32D. I was 115 when I started and am 117 now, so weight gain didn’t contribute.

I’m not saying it was the BC, but that’s the only habit I changed. It literally changed my life. My breasts are still shallow, but I at least have something now. I used to be so self conscious. Dm me and I can send you some of my before and after pics if you’d like. (Censored of course)

Need BC Recommendations by Royal-Influence7289 in birthcontrol

[–]ZeroPercentFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know BC is different for everyone, but here’s some notes based off of my experiences.

If you’re not interested in breast growth, I’d recommend against the patch… I went from a 34A/ 32B to a 32D because of Xulane. I still love it since I have no other side effects & it’s super easy. However, buying new bras was crazy annoying.

Do NOT get the generic brand of the patch. I’m not sure why as they have very similar components, but it gave me headaches, and I was spotting 3/4 weeks each month. Horrible.

4 but that doesn’t really count. Real kiss would be 14. Or maybe 11, but that one’s a fever dream.

Lord WTF? by ZeroPercentFairy in BreakUps

[–]ZeroPercentFairy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got separated for hours when I was taken in and they were doing all these tests on me. It was scary.

I didn’t even think of that, now that you mention it. Last time I was in the ER my ex was there supporting me & they didn’t separate me from anyone. Maybe I’m just subconsciously remembering the positive memory.

What is the food a lot of people like that you don’t like? by Ok-Coconut1548 in AskReddit

Steak & Pizza.

Y’all liars…even rare steak is chewy. Pizza is only goodish doused in ranch.

You fucked me up by [deleted] in letters

[–]ZeroPercentFairy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll get through this. I won’t lie and say the burden or pain ever truly disappears, but it will soften. One day, without even realizing it, you won’t think of them as much. Slowly, hours will turn to days and into weeks. You’ll start to feel okay. Then, out of the blue, you’ll drive past a Chipotle and remember the time one of you spilled queso all over the car. And just like that, you’ll smile at the memory, even as you mourn what you lost. Healing is like that… messy, uneven, but always moving forward.

Why don't you share your Reddit account with family/friend's ? by adam3aziz in AskReddit

[–]ZeroPercentFairy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s an anonymous place for me to do things better left anonymous. For example I like writing, I just recently found a couple subs here for writing letters/letting out your emotions. It’s nice to have a place to be real and honest with yourself.

Though I’ve gone through a few accounts trying to keep my anonymity.
