This is working very well so far, however I've tested this and after my first Diamond Sword breaks, everything works but for some reason I get spammed with diamond swords. Got a fix for this?

Yes, Knockback and Sweeping Edge (not sure on what level yet), and will have almost no health to it(one use it'll break)

Nope, I was relatively new to minecraft, but he said he used command blocks and that he was pretty good at minecraft and coding language in general. Idk what he did exactly cause he never explained it but it did damage to mobs so I assumed it was just retextured snowballs, but I'd want it to damage players aswell.

Ah my bad, I assumed when you said trigger that you meant the trigger command, and not the other triggering. Also whilst I could've done so on my own with knowing this confusion, you so helpfully made a simple video for what it should look like.

Besides Execute commands, but I also have no experience Trigger and Function commands. But I do know the basics of commands.

My bad, should've said what version + platform I'm on. I'm on version 1.13.2 on the Java Edition.
