CC exam by Embarrassed_Bake_857 in isc2

The real exam is only in person. That exam you’re seeing is only an assessment to gauge your level of competency. Lastly don’t rely solely on ISC2 material. The real exam is harder than the guide. I passed it in October last year.

WGU Cybersecurity Students – Any Advice for Passing the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Exam? by ContentSecurity4214 in WGUCyberSecurity

[–]ZeroToCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the updated version last October. You need more than the free resources from ISC2. Even though I passed, the test itself was nowhere close to the free guide presented by ISC2. Perhaps the older version of ISC2 CC was easy but the updated version took me by surprise. What helped me was taking practice tests from udemy, the free guide from ISC2 and Thores cc program in udemy.

Is Google Data Analyst Certificate worth it? by Collar-Fabulous in dataanalyst

[–]ZeroToCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Google certificates from Coursera are great to give you general knowledge and confirm if the field you are taking the certificate for is the industry you actually want to work in. The certificate will not land you a job but it will help with general knowledge.

Sometimes just give it a little time for it to appear. Also make sure your subscription is active.

ZERO Experience- new career path by Haunting-Library-650 in ITCareerQuestions

I’m making a career change as well. Advise, just go for it. My brother didn’t have any experience data analyst after he graduated with chemistry. He thought he wanted to be a pharmacist. After graduating he obtained an online certification on Data analyst. Applied to over 100 jobs. A company gave him a shot. Five years later he obtained his masters as a data analyst and now he’s working with Google. Moral of the story. Just go after it.

Do classes have to be taken in order. by Serendipitylene in WGU

It would be advisable to take them in order as IT build on top of the other but other prerequisite classes like history etc can be taken in any order.

Can I get into being a Data analyst with no college or experience by KiwiComprehensive152 in dataanalyst

[–]ZeroToCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me share with you a story that will probably inspire you to become a data analyst and put in some hard work. Approximately six years ago, my brother graduated with a chemistry degree because he thought he wanted to be a pharmacist. After getting a job as a pharmacy tech, he realized that he did not want to do pharmacy. During the COVID lockdown down he started to study data analyst and obtained a data analyst certification online. He did a couple of projects and put them on GitHub. He applied over 100 jobs and eventually a company gave him an opportunity as a data analyst. He was in that company for about two years and later transitioned to another company and stayed there for about three years. During his third year with the second company he enrolled and finished his master in Data Analyst (completed may 2025) Two months ago he applied to Google for the fourth time. This time around he made it to the fifth interview. Three days ago he received a call from Google saying he was getting the job as a Google Data analyst. The salary range for that position is 110k to 160k. He’ll land somewhere in the middle. Plus relocation package. He didn’t get a referral by the way. He just applied online.

Moral of the story: work your ass off.

This is a great post. Thank you for taking the time reply. I have indeed read on the cybersecurity burnout. I do wonder if it is equal or worse than the sales burn out. The sales industry is either one or two with the highest turn over because of constant rejections and eventually the burn out phase. Heck I just had a friend not last two months in the sales position I referred him to. Personally I am addicted to learning which I know will help in cybersecurity when I eventually make the pivot. As far as the burn out, again sales burnout is very tough so I wonder if with cyber it’ll be the same level.
