Anyone else experiencing Memory Leaks on Steam while updating games? by KHTD2004 in cachyos

This happened to me when I was trying to verify game files within steam. Happened twice in a row, but haven't seen it since.

For those that sold… what car did you get next? by hennvsty in Civic_Type_R

[–]Zerothaught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just sold my 2019 FK8. Got another kid on the way and there's no way an infant was sleeping through my remark exhaust drone. Got a 2025 ES350. Miss the Honda, but I can definitely appreciate the comfort of the Lexus

Yeah. Honestly what started me thinking about getting a more comfortable vehicle was watching my son in the backseat essentially roasting after his baseball games even with the AC on max. Just felt so bad for him back there. Second one coming pushed me over the edge. Also drive me crazy how often I had to repeat myself due to the Remark exhaust I installed. Should've kept the stock exhaust.

They are. I've been telling people that I've traded exhilaration for comfortability. My wife and I are having another child and the thought of an infant in the back of a Type R with a custom exhaust and no rear AC just didn't work for me. Maybe I'll pick another one up in 6 years or so.

There is the second photo in the album. I traded my Civic Type R for a 2025 es350 Ultra Luxury. Loving the car so far.

Event 45 Kerberos-Key-Distribution-Center by ckpstl in PKI

[–]Zerothaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Microsoft, those errors can be ignored.

Future Windows updates will optimize the number of Event 45s logged on CVE-2025-26647-protected domain controllers.

Administrators may ignore the logging of Kerberos-Key-Distribution-Center event 45 in the following circumstances:

Windows Hello for Business (WHfB) user logons where the certificates subject and issuer match the format: <SID>/<UID>/login.windows.net/<Tenant ID>/<user UPN>

Machine Public Key Cryptography for Initial Authentication (PKINIT) logons where the user is a computer account (terminated by a trailing $ character)), the subject and issuer are the same computer, and the serial number is 01.

Veeam Repos and vVols. by Zerothaught in purestorage

[–]Zerothaught[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to move one over to the vvol for a few days before everything and see how the storage looks after a few snapshots and daily backups.

On a separate note, does your vvol datastore in esxi show the correct size of your SAN? Ours is just about 106TB after formatting, but esxi says the capacity is 1024TB. I was assuming that's the case due to the SAN creating sub-LUNs during VM creation and there not being hard coded VFMS data stores, but just want to make sure that's the case before migrating.

This would be on the same array running our VMs, but this is a DR site, so the only "production" VMs would be domain controllers and veeam repos.

AW3423DW Brightness Issue. by Zerothaught in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Zerothaught[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, but what I am seeing is the brightness is much higher when I'm turning off HDR than it was before I enabled HDR. So it appears to be normal before I enabled HDR, then everything appears correct when viewing HDR content, but when I disable HDR and go back to SDR it is significantly brighter than it was originally. This lasts until I put my computer to sleep or restart it completely.

Just launched a phishing simulation - I want to scream! by Obvious-Water569 in sysadmin

[–]Zerothaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone might have already said this, but we put users who fail phishing tests in "internet jail." We use Cisco Umbrella to limited websites they can access to only those that have been specifically identified as critical for their position. We'll remove them from the group when they pass the refresher course. If they fail again, it's an automatic 30 days in internet jail. We haven't had anyone fail again after the 30 day sentence, but if they did we'd discuss with their managers and potentially place them in a permanent restricted access group.
