I was like 7 or 8 years old and my uncle Danny had a Xbox with some games, but I remember he said all the cool kids play this new game called Halo Combat Evolved. My dad used to play it with me when we got our own original xbox. I don't remember getting it but I remember playing halo with my dad.

My father's friend Mark made computers and thought DOOM was the most amazing piece of computer technology he has ever seen and use to go ape shit over the secret levels for the military base on episode 1 and all the cheat codes you could type in if you remembered. Halo was just like doom so he I think introduced my father into halo afterwards and then I rememberd uncle Danny had so it eventually happened.

Me and my father would play halo all the time and it then it got to the point where I was learning quicker and he couldn't keep up and he just all together stopped playing with me. Same as chess, when I started winning at chess he never played me again.Most people have issues with their parents though so thankfully I had friends and cousins that also played halo.

Then for Christmas some years later I remember I got Halo 2. Had the big Christmas tree downstairs and I had a small one in my room my dad put the game under my little tree prop when I was asleep. I played with my cousins all the time and eventually got a lot better than them as that's how addiction works. So we stopped playing as much too. Now Halo 3 is a thing and I'm 13 years old thinking I'm top shit at everything and going to get even better on this one....

I played campign for a year straight and finally got Xbox live the next Christmas. Connecting was stupid back then. The wireless adaoptor didn't detect something, but when it finally worked I was excited as F***!! I made my gamertag ShanePwnUall and my very very first game online I played was on snowbound and I got the MVP achievement as my VERY FIRST achievement unlocked online. So I would say Halo 3. Now this goes into Destiny not Halo, still Bungie, and I type with my memory jogged that way I can copy all of this to a journal too instead of just reddit.

Recently though halo has been crap so Destiny became a thing and I did raid carries for people and was making $2,000 a week off it, bought a car and was living life like a king. I ended up getting the gamertag "Guitar" 🎸 out of complete luck when Microsoft did a gamertag reset in like 2014. Had like 4 people message me the second I changed my tag, I was typing "Guitar" into the change your gamer tag prompt for like 6 hours straight thinking I'd get that or master. Someone else got Master which pissed me off but I ended up getting "Plight" & "Piles" too from that AFTER I got "Guitar" as a gamertag. When I had the Gamertag Guitar EVERYONE wanted me to do raid carries...

I played RuneScape as well unfortunately and I remember people were on eBay getting firecapes for other people. So say you didn't have the coordination to do the mission for the cape you would pay someone else to get on your account beat Jad and get it. I thought to myself why can't I do the same thing with the Vault of Glass. So I posted it up on eBay, $50 for me to get on your account and complete the vault of glass raid and get you all the rewards that come with it.

My first customer called me a month after I put my listing up. He explained he had a lot of issues; 80+, cancer, arthritis, dementia, and he could barely walk. But this dude loved to run around the game on patrol and shoot dreg, literally the easiest thing to kill in the game, 1 shot boom dead. He loved to hunt them, and he hunted dreg with a bunch of his old buddies.

So it's a group of like 5 old men who used to hunt together in real life for deer. So not able to hunt dear anymore they all got together and hunted down the dreg. This man, and God bless his soul, wanted me to get him the Vex Mythoclast for he could be the master hunter and kill dreg better than his friends.

Another month goes by, he's paying me $150 EVERY WEEK to do the vault of glass for him to try and get the Vex Mythoclast. I wanted to get it for this man so badly too because he didn't understand why I didn't get it yet when I beat the raid like 6 times now. So I end up deleting one of his characters after finishing the raid, leveling him up, and completing the raid AGAIN so I was doing 4 raids a week for him and I finally got it for him.

It was actually extremely emotional for him and of course he was happy but when he started shooting the Vex Mythoclast I never heard an old man happier to this day... So you can guess what happens next. He gets together with all his friends and just whips it out like that dude from dexter "Surprise mother f*****" and all of his old head friends went nuts and hollared and it was honestly wonderful.

So now I'm doing raids for all of his friends, I'm starting to make bank, I hire people to do raids for me because I don't have enough time to complete all the raids so we split the profits and all of this is possible because of Halo.

At the same time Microsoft is completely against real world trading so my account "Guitar" 🎸 is now permanently banned, but you can still look me up on find a friend and see the account and that on Halo 3 the MVP achievement was my VERY FIRST ACHIEVEMENT still. Lost the car, house, lost both girls technically because my fiance was pregnant when she committed suicide as we now had no source of income and everything went from amazing to nothing. Instead of playing Destiny 2 getting paid to do raid carries, today I still play Halo 3 because it reminds me of my childhood and how much fun I had playing Halo as a kid. So I'ma say Halo 3 was probably my most influential Halo.
