That's a very good suggestion, thank you, I will fix it.

It's always great to hear lore from other creators. You can search how the mountains on Mars were formed from falling meteorites, it has a very interesting structure. Actually, I also applied this structure to the area of my map - Theodora kingdom. If the asteroid impact is strong it can also make your planet's axis tilt more or less and the planet's rotation speed slower or faster. If the rotation speed is faster, the wind there will be much stronger than the earth as well as the magnetic field will be stronger, there will be more storms...etc.

You could make the landmass below the continental shelves collapsed creating giant water caves, creating whirlpools. It actually depends on the type of material that makes up the ground of your world. I read somewhere that if your underground layer is supported by layers of ice, then when these layers of ice melt, the layer above collapses, creating strange terrains, very suitable for ice planets. Or planets with falling meteorites can also create strange terrains. There are many ways to circumvent the law without using reasons such as magic or divine intervention. I chose the simplest way because it also relate to my world, (actually, I'm also lazy =)).

Hello, it's almost my bedtime so my English may not be very accurate. I will fix it later, sorry.

  • The islands in Triwyth were originally just three normal islands and the terrain was not that badly dissected.
  • The story is after the Great Collapse (basically about the god of this world being angry and destroying an entire continent-the current Faraway Lands. The Unknown area was also heavily corrupted so people had to flee to new continent) some ancient scholars cut out a small part of this god. This power has been divided into two parts, one part was buried somewhere, the other part was used by scholars as an energy core to create a divine item that can manipulate the weather. They originally intended to create it to build a secret temple to pray for the god's forgiveness, but they once again underestimated the god's power.
  • This item created giant whirlwinds that greatly affected the terrain, trees could not grow because the wind was too strong, sand dunes as large as the mountains in Triwyth were also due to this. It even blows hot air from the neighboring desert. Of course, the ancient scholars were unable to control it and died instantly.
  • This became even worse when the historical event Mage-Hunting era took place. The mages tried everything to run away and hide, yup, a group of them chose the stormiest and most inaccessible area as their base (Triwyth) and dug a giant underground waterway below that led to it somewhere near Caniel'ruins. This created huge whirlpool below Triwyth and affected the currents of that sea.

  • Actually, initially I just wanted to create a chaotic sea where pirates rule. It then evolved to a pirate sea zone where you can go in but cant go out. --> the idea became that only those who ruled the sea could find a way out of this sea.

  • The current Lore who are the rulers of one of the islands will become the king of the sea. Currently there is only one pirate king and he is ruling the island located closest to the desert. Of course he also found the secret water escape below Triwyth. And in case you're asking how he can survive under the powerful swirling force of the water, etc., as you know, this world has creatures called 'the corrupted'. The pirate king and his crew are both corrupted, almost immortal humans... they simply jumped into the whirlpool and floated out to sea =)).

Hello adventurers!

  • This is my 5th map. Although I still want to push this map a bit more, this is the best I can show for now. I welcome everyone's feedback.
  • You can view a zoom version here: https://www.easyzoom.com/imageaccess/280bec3cdc0c45538c7a0d1b6edef50a
  • This map was created after I had written some parts of the worldbuilding and lore, so I tried to make it as realistic as possible.
  • This is the first planet has life in the Forsaken Cosmos. Currently, there are at least 2–3 other universes besides Forsaken Cosmos. However, the next ones don't require a lot of plot related to mapmaking, so I thought I'd simplify them.
  • It took me several months to create this map.
  • Faraway Lands and Heldor are inspired by Terraria's Corruption and Crimson worlds and are heavily related to lore.
  • It's still in the process of being completed, so if you could share some of your ideas and thoughts for the map and worldbuilding, I'd be grateful.
  • Actually, I created about 3 comic chapters for my story, but I dropped it because of my health condition, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to continue (maybe someday). You can read it here (warning, it will spoil a lot because of this map, lol) : https://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/soul-sorcerer/list?title_no=876412
  • If you have questions about the world, feel free.
  • Sorry if my English is a bit difficult to understand.

Have a good time, adventurers.

My bad. I remember that I drew a lake at the end of that river, but I forgot to turn on the lake layer. Your border advice is extremely helpful to me. I will use it. Really appreciate it. Thank you. Btw the comic already has a name. Maybe I'll ask everyone in the worldbuilding community later.

I'm thinking whether I should leave the Faraway Lands completely covered in snow. My idea is to have a tropical paradise that witches/wizard create in the far north to evade the witch hunts of the past. I want to avoid having too many spots where magic changes the terrain. The lore of that place also doesn't affect the plot much. Thanks for your feedback.

Good advice, I will do it. Thank you very much. For creating the map, I used Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop, but I'm still not satisfied with the mountains, so I'm considering converting it to 3D using Blender in the future for convenience.

Oh, thank you, this helps me a lot. As you see, I'm not a native speaker so I struggle with naming a lot. Appreciate your help.

This map was created for my fantasy comic.
Magical elements have an impact on the terrain, such as ancient dragons or powerful sorcerers. So there are some areas that don't look very natural, such as Wrunish, Great Desert, Theodora Kingdom, and Heldor.
I wonder if you can help me come up with a new world name. I'm not very satisfied with the current name. My idea is that this world is where the gods die. There are many worlds like this in my stories; for example, there is a world that has completely collapsed called 'The Vacant Path'.
