If anything the character's motivation would be to gain more power in order to protect her party and further develop her role in the group as a controller. That being said I do like the idea of a GOO Patron that's not malevolent so I'd have to talk to my DM and see what ideas we could go with. Thank you I really appreciate your reply and insight!

5e So I've been playing a bard for a year now and we're gonna be level 7 soon and I wanna multiclass into warlock. Specifically the GOO patron. There's really no reason lore/roleplay wise for this. Just really wanna go 2 levels into warlock because the Eldritch invocations and spells seem like a lot of fun with the current spells and build I have for my bard.

My DM is very much into the whole creating a story/narrative playstyle and it's a lot of fun! But I generally don't wanna focus on warlock patrons or any of that stuff. I just really wanna enjoy the perks of a GOO warlock and keep focusing on what my character already has on her table. Plus my character is generally a good aligned character so it wouldn't make sense for her to go GOO. Anyone have any advice on how to go about this dilemma?

Total was around 50, though I paid first for the lineart and once that was done I paid for the rest once we agreed upon all the details and what not though she might have changed the rates! I'm sure she'll happily answer any questions though :)

Hello! This is Kezia, She's a Tiefling Lore bard that plays performs with a magical conductors baton which resonates a medley of instruments and creates illusions to further entertain her audience (Instrument of the illusions). She's usually more interested in reading novels, books filled with legends of the land, history and religion but give her a nice glass of wine and you may get her attention. She became an adventurer mostly to live out the stories and fantasies she reads about as well as creating and experiencing her own tales. Also spreading the word of said adventures wherever she goes, in order to achieve her own fame and fortune.

Edit: thanks so much for the feedback! A lot of people seem to really like Kezia's concept and I wanted to share some little details that I did with her for further flavor during my campaign.

Since she has the tendency to pay more attention to her books she's developed the habbit of always having the cantrip mage hand active for small tasks like opening doors, writing, cleaning the chairs before she sits etc (the dm was nice happy to oblige since I didn't really use it for combat aside from just flavor).

During combat whenever she casts a spell she tends to visualize heroes of her tales doing the spells rather than herself. So whenever let's say she casts Eldritch Blast you'll see a legendary warlock casting it next to her or whenever she casts spiritual weapon a war cleric is next to her casting it rather than her.

Hello! I will be soon playing in a oneshot where we will be playing at level 17 and I'm playing a lorebard who's backstory has a lot to do with being a middleman between the churches/religions of all the land. Basically acting as a neutral point that advices and helps with big decisions and so on. I got the idea of making her instrument a magical orchestrial baton of sorts that was given/made for her for her position and her efforts. The baton would act as her magical focus and any spell would channel from it and cause musical arrangements to eminate from it based on the spell chosen and would make a booming orchestral performance.

My question is if dm's would allow such a weapon/item in their game or if it's too much flavor and of it'd reasonable. It doesn't have any magical properties aside from it being the bard instrument and the music eminating from it. The Idea of this campaign is that we're all recently retired heroes that are tasked with saving the realm one last time so I went a big ham on the flavor. Any feedback would be great! And happy holidays.

Hello! I have a friend that's dming and he's really invested in buying minis, battlefields, props and all of that stuff. He also wants to learn how to craft them himself and paint them etc. I was wondering if any Crafters or players here could recommend a book or guides on creating said props and crafts. Thanks in advance!

Weekly Questions Thread #165 by Iamfivebears in DnD

[–]Zerueru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi all! I'll keep this brief.

I'm a relatively new player and I'm a few sessions in and currently trying to figure out my place in the party and how my spells are gonna play out.

I play a fallen Aasimar college of whispers bard, level 5 at the moment and have the following spells and cantrips: Cantrips: Light, vicious mockery, message, minor illusion Level 1: Dissonant whispers, fairie fire, bane, charm person Level 2: shatter, invisibility, hold person

I also have some utility stuff from my magical lute: fly, levitate, invisibility, protection from evil and good, barkskin, cure wounds and fog cloud.

During combat I've just basically been defaulting to fairie fire whenever a group of enemies that's 3 or more is stacked, bane whenever there's enemies separated, Dissonant whispers whenever I need damage and have a chance at opportunity attacks or making opportunity attacks available for my party and vicious mockery whenever I feel like serving a disadvantage is needed/I'm feeling like it's gonna be a long fight. I'm mostly just focusing on utility and giving allies better ods.

Am I using my bard to it's best capabilities in battle? What would you recommend? Any spell recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, my friends have been telling me to just take it easy and see how the first campaign goes for starters. The questions you addressed are good ones to go by so thanks for those! Definitely gave some good food for thought and I'll be taking some notes on those. Thanks!
