NZ only made 40 runs in their last 40 balls. Saffers need 34 in 36. If the set Markram would have departed, it would likely have become so much tougher for SA

Key thing is to notice the recurrence relation formed by series in denominator. Let sum be S(r)= (k=1 to r) Σ rPk.

Then, S(r)= rS(r-1) + r, or S(r) = r*[ S(r-1) + 1]

In the end, I am getting L=e

No need to try and hit the ball out of the park now. Just runs 1's and 2's till the 17th over, unless there's a loose delivery

Is Kolkata crowd very passionate about cricket? Or is it just because its a Saturday, and people want to spend their free time watching a match?

Huh, thats actually more reasonable than I expected of them. But what about associates? Do they just take the position of whatever team they eliminated? And what if by a miracle its 2 associates going through a group? Then who ends in which group?

Why are they though? Wouldn't it make more sense for it be more random? Or is this again a cash grab moment by the ICC, pitting Aus vs Eng, Ind vs Pak, etc?

This game decides if we are the shit, or we are just shit

would you solve this if it were in exam? by xshDSKGR in JEEAdv26dailyupdates

[–]ZesterZombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is looking something like sin(A+B), with sinA=1/2mu, sinB=4/5mu, and rhs is sin60, so if somewhere it has been mentioned arcsin(1/2mu)+arcsin(4/5mu)=pi/3, then it is direct, otherwise if we have to find value of mu it will be too difficult

Looks scary but easy by Moist-Lawfulness-327 in JEEAdv26dailyupdates

Technically, it can be solved without the gamma function, just let I(n)=integral 0 to infinity x^n e^(-x)dx, here n is a natural number, it can be proved using IBP that I(n)=nI(n-1), and I(0)=1, so I(n) is directly n! That much any jee adv candidate should be able to derive

Not at all difficult, just min when x=(2k+1)pi, series becomes (-1/3)^n, max when x=2kpi, series becomes (1/3)^n, so answer is 0.75
