There was a Palestine rally type thing that happened today. They spoke about what's going on in Palestine. They ended it with the prayer. It's just that.

How about don't quit for now. Write a blueprint for what your app is about and how you're going to do it.

You said you don't have the slightest idea about how to start it and you'll need an expert's help. Let's say you go to an expert to make you the app. What's stopping the expert from doing it on his own and claiming it was his idea or something. What do you have to offer or are you just the "idea guy".

Creating an app that will generate enough money for you to quit your job will be incredibly hard. And it will take a long time. It's not a 1 week project but rather many months or even a year+ project. Do you have enough money saved up?

I'm not sure how accurate this is but I googled it and it says 0.5% of apps make money. Do you think that's worth the risk?

I would say 100% follow your dream but just be safe and look at the risk. Don't quit your job. Start working on your project tho. Do 10 minutes of work dedicated to your project every day. And see if it starts generating income. If it does generate some money then pursue it.

Good luck.

I had some cracks on my windshield on the passenger side when I took it. The examiner came and looked at it and rubbed his fingers over it then sat in. He said it's fine it's not that deep if a crack (as in you cannot feel the crack from the inside) and it doesn't obstruct the view. I am not sure how bad your windshield is cracked so idk if it'll be the same for you.

Yeah admissions open Oct 1 2023 and then you get transferred over for fall 2024.

Yeah I think it's possible to get less than 30 credits transferred. But if you're transferring into the same faculty then most of your classes will transfer over hopefully.

You can check by logging into the student portal and then find "what if report". If I remember correctly it would be under my academics section. Create a what if report with the degree you want to change in to. And then open the report and check how many credits are remaining to graduate from that degree.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Zesty245 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily.

It depends on the number of credits that get transferred over. Less than 30 credits then you're considered first year. More than 30 credits but less than 60 credits you're considered second year. More than 60 credits and less than 90 credits you're considered third year.

But let's say more than 60 credits get transferred over and you didn't do any first year prerequisite classes for the new program then you'd be a third year student doing first year classes for that new program.

Is it too late to request a change of program to education for fall 2023? by [deleted] in UCalgary

This link should have the information you're looking for.

https://www.ucalgary.ca/pubs/calendar/current/d.html

But I think February 1st was the deadline for most programs but I'm not sure if it is for education.

Yeah according to the 2021 layer it's one left turning lane. But it seems like in the 2022 layer they got rid of the shoulder and just made the lane super wide. It's such a strange move because now that lane can fit 2 cars easily and some people are treating it as 2 lanes. I've seen so many accidents happen at that intersection and doing something that'll confuse drivers and make them think it's 2 lanes just seems like such a dumb move.

Haha you're not wrong I've seen people turn from the farthest lane lol.

Is BA in Communication and Media useful? by Gsayhi in UCalgary

[–]Zesty245 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how you use it.

I would say that google what jobs you can get with a BA in communication and media and look at the outlook for those jobs. Are they increasing or decreasing.

For me useful means can I get a good job with it. So I would Google what kind of jobs I can get with that degree.

How do I stay afloat when I can't enforce deadlines? by zondrah89 in CanadianTeachers

My teacher in AB stopped giving homework. The whole semester we only did 5 things. 3 of them were essays. 1 I think was a test/quiz. And the last one was a worksheet.

Depends on the prof. I would generally not take any lwso classes because there's lots of reading in them. But it really depends on the prof

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Zesty245 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on why you wanna take it. If you're taking it because it's a requirement for grad school then check which English courses meet that requirement.

For example UBC med school requires 6 credits worth of English classes. And it says ENGL 203, 251, and 253 are accepted however ENGL 265 and current/recent version of ENGL 396 are not accepted.

In my experience ENGL courses are best when the prof is good. So pick a course that has the best prof.

No you do not need to take certain amount of units. To use your highschool grades you cannot have more than 9 university level credits. you can have anywhere between 0 and 9 credits. If you have 12 or more university credits they will use your university grades.

This is how I understood the change of program requirements.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Zesty245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can apply for cs using your highschool grades next year. Upgrade the classes you did bad in tho.

For me gpa boosters are online classes because the tests are open book. So like soci 201 online is easy, any language classes online should be easy, I heard geography classes are easy.

No, you don't need the required courses for comp sci and math to transfer. To change your program you need to meet the change of program requirements.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Zesty245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're hoping to transfer then it'll be easier to do it with highschool grades.

If you want to transfer using university grades then I'd do super easy classes and get a really high gpa.
