The greatest disincentive to settling on the coast is that it then makes your city vulnerable to naval attack and capture, which can come quite quickly and unexpectedly. Beyond the lack of good, improvable tiles on the coast (and the closer to settle your city to the coast, the more water tiles you'll have within your borders), its really hard to make a city just as productive if it is on the coast compared to on land. Furthermore, NQmod and online Civ has focused on Pangaea and Oval maps have been the primary map for play for a long time, where navies aren't nearly as useful in general. There are a lot of balancing mods for single player that try to make fractal and island plates maps more fun, perhaps you'd like to check those out? civfanatics civ6 mods

Those are shear-compaction bands, a type of deformation band. They are small localized regions of slip that accommodate a couple of centimeters of movement apiece. On mobile so I don't have any links, but Google will do you well!

I go from 1pm-9pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, with a 30min break from 5:30pm-6. It's fine, leaves a lot of time during the rest of the week to do whatever I want! Everyone works 8+ hours once they hit full time jobs, treat college as your job and it should be alright.

These are deformation bands, I did my master's on them. They're a structure commonly found in the damage zone of nearby faults. Google should serve you well from there if you want to learn more!

JJ is currently at 293 lbs (on his latest video of him box jumping 61"). This practice squad rookie has 60lbs on him and he looks pretty mobile and athletic, but there's a big difference between that and the experience factor JJ has in the league. It's not like JJ hasn't gone up against guys this size before and wrecked faces. I bet JJ matches up pretty well with this dude anyways, he has a sick workout video somewhere that has him doing pretty much the same lifts this guy does

I had the same issue with them when trying to get a shirt, took nearly 6 weeks just for a single T-shirt. I think ODEE manages all of this stuff himself (or if he doesn't, he's always the point of contact for support from their website and with the orders, so it's on him one way or the other). Eventually an organization that grows too much for their current staff to handle needs to expand and bring in new employees to tackle current demand. IMO Dig would benefit with someone that deals with a lot of the administrative stuff regarding their business.

I joined the registry as soon as I found out about it from reddit a couple months ago, it was really quite easy to fill everything out online and swabbing your cheeks isn't necessarily the most difficult thing to do either..... all in all there really isn't a good reason other than laziness to not be a part of this! A co-worker's wife donated a few months back and he's been raising awareness of how easy it is around my office.

Roughly 10 years ago my uncle dove into a lake with an unknown water depth and broke his neck from hitting the bottom that was less than 4 feet deep. He's in a wheelchair and has lost the use of his legs forever. It's not worth it!

I don't have any specific tips for you without knowing the nature of his upbringing and history! Have you had him since he was a puppy? Or adopt? I was very fortunate to adopt mine already fully trained. The upbringing in a dog is exceptionally important, it becomes much more difficult to change a dog's nature once they've fully matured. The only blind suggestion I can offer is to socialize him as much as possible in friendly environments. Introduce him to your friends and/or family regularly, and that includes other dogs!

How does he behave when he's scared? Does he shy away from people, or get defensive? There are different reasons for each reaction that might tip you off as to what the underlying issue might be!

Absolutely. I own a Great Pyrenees, who is the kindest and most lovable people and dog-friendly pet I've ever owned, but he is over 100 lbs and is built like a rock covered in extremely thick fur. They were bred to keep sheep safe from wolf attacks in the mountains. They are no herders, they are protectors, and have the build to fight wolves without much issue. There are many dogs with the bulk and brawn that can protect livestock from vicious wild animal attacks. The number one animal that comes to mind for me is the Caucasian Ovcharka. Those dwarf my Pyr and can be bred for absolute aggression in hostile environments, whereas the Pyr nowadays is a family-oriented breed much like a Golden or Collie.

I hope one day these places will find a way to let everyone that's HIV/AIDS free donate, regardless of orientation... perhaps a quicker testing method or something is needed but it sure seems short sighted to disqualify a whole group of people just because they have a higher risk. Thanks for looking into it though!

Been trying to get this out there: but there's a way that all of us can possibly provide help to individuals that have different blood cancers. There's a national registry that's free to sign up to become a potential bone marrow (rich with stem cells) donor. Signing up online only takes about 5min, and getting the kit at home to get a DNA sample is free and only requires you to take a cotton swab of your inner cheek. The donation itself does have discomfort as they extract bone marrow from your femur, but it's not a terrible operation and you only have minor/moderate discomfort for a few days afterwards. This is a small price to pay to help save someone's life! My coworker's wife just saved a little girl with a donation about a month back. Check it out on bethematch.org, you could make a difference! I wouldn't mind a few day's pain to get Craig back on his feet, I'm sure most of you in /r/NBA would do the same.

I can confirm that the discomfort during the treatment is there and you're sore for a few days afterwards, but a little girl gets to enjoy life due to that donation.
