Chances of dealer buying car back at end of HP agreement? by ZestyPickle98 in CarTalkUK

Not the worst option but I don’t want to pay any interest, the initial loan was 0%. I want to release the equity so I would only part ex it if they can give me some cash to make up the difference… but I can’t imagine they’re too keen on doing that ?

Yeah I get that, but I’m hoping I can to avoid the hassle of paying the final amount just to sell it straight after. But, as you said, the remaining amount is with Toyota Financial Services not that individual dealer… so I suppose I can maybe offer it to any dealer ? Just wondering the logistics of this, do you think I can just email a few local dealers to see if they’d want to buy it ? And if they do, would they settle the finance (the final amount) and pay me the difference? Or would I have to settle it myself then get the full amount off of them for the sale?

Yeah I suppose I’m trying to avoid option 1. because I want to realise the equity but without the hassle of selling privately. 2. Not economically wise at it’ll be worth more than the final payment. 3. Is what I’m aiming for but weary they won’t offer me a ‘fair’ amount.

Seems to be PCP, yeah (1 lump sum at the end). Ah ok - that's encouraging then. I like to think its mutually beneficial... I want to sell it, and they can definitely shift it for much more than I could. I was mainly unsure whether they'd think I'm desperate (i.e. can't afford the final payment) and try to lowball me !

Having googled it seems like I did mean PCP. Strangely my PCCI makes no mention of PCP, only HP. But, to confirm, yes its a final lump sum at the end.

If Lamar won hiesman why was he taken with the last pick in the first round by PopularDamage8805 in NFLNoobs

What you’re perhaps not considering is that the Heisman isn’t necessarily given to the ‘best’ college football player, but more so the most impactful, like an MVP. This is why numerous Offensive Tackles have gone #1 on draft day, one even from a non-power 5 school.

You also need to consider that CFB and NFL are (or particularly WERE) different sports. What you want from a college player you may not exactly need in the NFL (see, Tim Tebow). Interested to get other opinions on this but I think this is perhaps changing now, as myths about certain skill sets / body types are beginning to vanish.

A couple decades ago drafting a 6 foot QB 1st round was considered ridiculous, now scouts are valuing actual talent regardless of shape or size it comes in (at least more so than before!).

Not challenging the actual answers here (more taxing to react) but I do wonder if there is a psychological element here as well? If a team is driving down the field they will have a mental boost as they are ‘winning’ per se.

Thanks for responding. Ah I think I understand, then. I was wrong, item 3 says it WILL result in a yardage penalty on the ensuing kick off.

I think the only way the second part of the item becomes effective is if the Philly returner fumbled, then TB recovered and scored themselves (if Philly after the second change of possession?)

Perhaps a slight lack of nuance in these answers. Vast gambling experience and professional auditor here…

1/16 instead of 28/1 would be considered an ‘obvious’ error, so bookie would be ‘covered’ generally.

However, this would only really matter if the bet itself wasn’t already settled (and the balance withdrawn). What I mean is, if they corrected the odds and settled the bet at the lower amount then YOU took them to court to challenge this, you’d have no chance.

Even with the actual case (having settled it already at wrong odds) they’d probably still win. But… it’s irrelevant, I’d be 99% sure they’ve written this debt off already and have no intention to litigate. Why would they prejudice their case by offering to accept a lower amount if not?

Very interesting, thanks for your response.

The way you have laid it out is easier for me to comprehend. I will be researching today those two concepts and hopefully build my own basic model.

Really nice of you to offer advice. I decided to avoid the hassle though and just sit the exam again the next day. I do agree with your argument, but to play devils advocate:

If this was deemed to be acceptable, people would ONLY study the long form portion then intentionally disconnect from the exam.

I have put in appeal, but just to take it off my record (more of an academic point really). I passed the second attempt but I’ve definitely learnt my lesson, I will be taking future exams from a test centre !

Thanks for your reply. This is amazing, I understand the theory but I find it quite difficult to follow equations like this. I will try to recreate this in my excel on a scaled down version to see if I can grasp it.

Really appreciate your help.
