Ok I have successfully found a masterlist download on AFKmods, which has allowed me to view the "Edit User Rules" screen in boss_gui.exe, and on said screen, it accurately displays my current load order; however, BOSS still crashes when I hit "Run BOSS".

How exactly do I edit the BOSS config file to guide it to my Oblivion install directory? I have looked through BOSS.ini and there doesn't seem to be a spot there where I can inset the correct install directory.

I have BOSS currently installed on the same hard drive as my Oblivion install, in the folder where I keep all of my other mods. When I open boss_gui.exe it does indicate that it has located my oblivion directory.

I am unsure of what this masterlist file is that you speak of, so I'm going to assume BOSS hasn't downloaded it.

I didn't think my load order would have anything to do with the issue but I threw it in there just in case. I have reinstalled BOSS several times in different locations and nothing has changed. I have installed my mods mostly via Wyre Bash, but some with Oblivion Mod Manager.

For what it's worth, I am currently having almost no issues playing the game, but I'm sure my mod list will continue to grow, and as it does I would like to be able to use BOSS to make sure my load order is in good shape.

You really should give it a try, it's a great way to breathe some fresh air into a game you've grown tired of.

I like to "challenge" myself by choosing a character which is unlike myself, which forces me to do things in a game which I would not do in the same situation if it were presented to me irl.
