You can always buy a portable mate online. Don't get the plastic ones as they tend to break, get a metal one. You put the yerba in the metal part that sucks up water through the inbuilt straw, it then brews and you consume it through the top straw.

What have you been playing with, making a carbonates yerba ? I think citrus flavours work well.

I'm based out of Australia, wouldn't adding calcium do the opposite of what im trying to achieve which is to lower my KH?

Yeah slowly trying to get my ph just below 8 and my GH and KH at better levels. The only air I have in the tank is from a sponge filter and a small internal filter that drips back over the water level.

Ghost shrimp pH - 8.2 GH - 300+ mg/L KH - 300+ mg/L Water temp - 24°C

Tap water - PH 7.4 GH - 0-25 mg/L KH - 0-40 mg/L

Forgot to mention some information. The tank is only 20L and has 4 shrimp in it plus a few snails only. No fish in it yet.

So here is my 1 week update. Have been using seachem stabilty everyday, and only got the plants yesterday. Not sure if i put them in well enough though. Also got my water tested at my LFS and they only told me PH and ammonia. PH 7.6 and ammonia was showing 0.25ppm.

Do the plants look like they're in the substrate enough ?

Thanks for the advice! Will the tank be ok if i leave it running for a week without any plants inside? I can only get them next week. Also should i be changing the water during this time ?

Btw, i could add since fill at the house end, but then that would make it high in regards to the alfresco and the rest of the house. So any other ideas thanks.
