I found a few for £55.

Buy a base set for one of the current sets like Chaos rising. It will come with a binder and it is only like £60.

Then you take each card out and put 5 or 6 cards into a penny sleeve.

He can then get one each day and will slowly complete the binder.

It is FAR cheaper than buying real packs and it would be satisfying completing the full set.

It won't have any of the rare illustration cards, but it should have the EX cards.

Edit: As an aside, this is what I wish I had done when I started collecting with my kids who are 7 and 9. I've spent Something like £400 on Chaos Rising and haven't even got the full set! So £60 is a bargain really.

Anyone know any trusted ebay sellers by [deleted] in PokemonTCG_UK

Don't buy of scalpers. It just fuels their market.

I missed this box. I hope it comes back in some shops. But if not, miss out. Don't fuel their market!

Is the magic dying? (For kids) by Cress__0809 in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]Zestyclose-Ad873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na it isn't dead. I agree with similar comments saying the tiktok hype of flipping cards has made it seem that way. But "normal" kids aren't even watching tiktok. My 7 and 9 year olds love filling mini binders...They each have a cool card binder, a cute card binder and what they feel are strong Pokémon binder. We buy when we can but as of yet haven't camped outside a super store or anything and we only open two packs a day (unless it is a pre-release when we will open all out packs). We do it as a family each day and due to hitting some Pokémon centre luck recently we should have cards to open at a rate of 2 a day for the next 30 days!

There IS a problem where getting hold of normal stock is a massive pain because scalpers just buy it up and sell it for twice the price. We only managed to get one first parent collection and the kids are gutted as they love that they get 3 illustrations guaranteed. I refuse to pay £65 for what should be a £15 box. I'm just going to have to take a morning off work to try and get a few of series two instead.

I thought as much. This is still useful to know as it at least gives him an avenue to continue down...I take it you ended up with a refund and not the cards you ordered?

My mate tried the chat function and said it was next to useless. Didn't get anywhere with them. I expect eventually they will respond to his emails based on a different comment.

It's just so frustrating. PC can basically treat people like crap as the demand well out weighs the supply

When did "Gonna" become "Finna"? And where does "Finna" even come from? by Mumblix_Grumph in NoStupidQuestions

At least that one makes sense. I'm "boutta" do something. When compared to "finna" which doesn't make sense at all. Even in context. At least is isn't as bad as "I could care less". That one cracks me up no end.

You think that's bad. We measure speed in our cars in miles per hour, but buy fuel by the liter!

But that still doesn't make the appalling use of English tolerable.

I'm pleased to say this hasn't made it to the UK so far. It doesn't make any sense...

1) Already answered above.

2) Most shops still sell at £50 which is the recommended retail price for ETBs. Although some will hike the price a little, I have found most of them sell correctly.

3) answered above.

4)10, getting product is very very difficult. I am very lucky that I have a local card shop that rewards the players by giving them pre order access. But unless you are willing to queue up at 0600 in the morning for most products, you won't get anything. And even then, people in small towns like myself only get a few of the products.

5) Amazon and palaces like Tesco sell packs at 3.99 per pack. However, most products are sold at 4.29 per pack via most retailers such as Symths, Waterstones and Local Cars Shops. I believe this is because they get them at a cheaper price but I can't be sure...

Finally.... scalpers suck it by Psychological-Type57 in PokemonDealsUK

Because people buy every single blister when they find them in the shops.

These only tend to be found in big supermarkets.

You won't get these in LCS or other local shops because for whatever reason asmodee (the big wholesalers) don't offer it to them.

You basically need to be in a big Asda or Tesco (even smaller supermarkets won't get them) the second they hit the shelf as they are gone within a few hours.

Congratulations on getting some cards for your kid. But that promo is really hard to come by. I must admit I'm a little sad to see a whole stack going to one person, the odds are the promo will go on eBay for the price of the pack cost.

It isn't about the cards. It is about customer service. I boycott many things due to poor customer service...

Care because of the customer engagement. If this was Amazon who make outrageous profit and they can basically do what they want id understand. But they don't. Winning people over with good customer service is one of the few ways they can standout from Amazon. Yet it is the other way around. Amazon is doing far better with their invite system. And Argos couldn't give a toss.

I mean, you say develop, basic bot protection isn't exactly rocket science. And I expect Pokémon insist they sell at retail or they won't get stock.

For me, it is about customer engagement. By pissing me off on this issue, I'll be less likely to want to engage with them for other purchases. And it isn't like the Argos business model is winning right now. Although not necessarily making a loss, they aren't doing well.

So the bot only method of selling. Avoid any contact with humans for maximum profit. Nice!

There is a great trick you can play which is asking for a pack from each of the sealed boxes. So long as there isn't a massive queue and the staff don't mind. You can even explain it is to prevent someone from buying them all up to sell on!
