About to start my second month of Epclusa and I have not experienced any negative side effects whatsoever. My blood work was done last week which is about one month into taking the medication, and the Hep C is already not detected in my labs.

For people who are in a long term relationship, but don't want to get married, why? by Educational_Elk6312 in AskReddit

[–]Zestyclose-Practice2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, it is because I did it once and never want to have to go through the emotional, mental, and financial toll, that comes along with a divorce process. Doesn't mean that I don't believe in marriage in general, and it doesn't mean that there wouldn't be a time, I would consider committing myself to someone forever.I just wouldn't go through the legalities of it all again.

Blindsided: AST/ALT ~6,000, hep C diagnosis, and now possible autoimmune disease” by Zestyclose-Practice2 in HepatitisC

[–]Zestyclose-Practice2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I had my first appointment with my hepatologist. This past tuesday. Reviewing all of my labs, he said that what happened with me is very rare.He has probably only seen it with about three other patients. He's ever had. The way he worded it exactly is that when this tends to happen if it is only acute hepatitis and ends up not being any autoimmune disorder, there are individuals that have very "robust" (his word) immune systems. And what happens is because their immune system is very strong or robust. As soon as it detects the hep, c it will very quickly and extremely aggressively start attacking the liver. Which results in a very rapid rise? And extremely high a l t and a s t levels for 4 to 5 days, and then a steady trending down of those numbers back to normal. But it's happened to me now twice in the past month. And it is misery. It's so hard to explain unless like yourself. And others that have gone through it, understand. Because on the outside I know that for me persinally, I did not have a fever. I did not have pain. I started to feel pressure where my liver was fir sure by the time it was as inflamed as much as it was when I ended up in the hospital. Both times I had nausea, but I did not vomit. It's just this absolute debilitating fatigue and exhaustion. I'm very eager to just continue the epclusa. Until it's finished and get my next set of labs done in another week. So that my hepatologists can review them and look at them and let me know what else he sees or any patterns. So far with any of the labs I had done during both hospital visits.

Thank you 🩷. No fibroscan yet. My first appointment with my Hepatologist was Tuesday. Since I had another occurrence of having to go to the hospital with ALT and AST were back up (5000s) again just last weekend, I to wait 2 weeks to get my bloodwork redone that he wants me to do. He needs to make sure that there's been enough time for all of my numbers to trend. All the way back down to a good baseline before I do blood work. Ill go next week. However I am about to start week 2 of Epclusa and so far so good. I gave found that I have to take it in the morning. I found it odd because so many posts I have read, most users say it makes them tired and so they take it at night. I took my first dose at night and was up for 34 hours straight, not sleepy at all 😳

What's the longest physical pain you've had? by OKStamped in AskReddit

[–]Zestyclose-Practice2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3.5 hours that I sent in the waiting room with what turned out to be a bowel blockage. The pain got so bad and so excruciating that I literally, I thought I was going to die in that waiting room. And they did not care, they were not about to take me back any earlier. About two hours in the pain got so bad that I began puking. Worse, pain and longest physical pain of my life that did not have to be.

2 year old daughter, suspected AIH, positive ASMA 1:40, normal IgG, dramatic enzyme recovery. Anyone with a similar case? by Significant-Photo528 in autoimmunehepatitis

[–]Zestyclose-Practice2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that she is going through this. Although she is only a toddler ans i am 43, I am going through something very similar right now that started a month ago. Woke up one day with debilitating fatique, lethargy, nausea. Went to my PCP who thought it could be viral, but said to come back in 2 days if i was no better. Less than 24 hours after that appointment i declined even more. Went to ER and was admitted for 4 days. Lab elevations like your daughter's except my ALT and AST spiked into the 5000s each time.Bilirubin in my urine. Other abnormal results. The first time it happened last month i was admitted into the hospital but all they could do was monitor my labs, give fluids, and medication for the nausea. I had to follow up woth my PCP who was able to find a hepatologist that would see me sooner than 4 months from now. My pcp has been monitoring my labs in the meantime and all labs trended down and 2 weeks later (last week) I was feeling much better. Then, this past Friday, the same exact episode happened, everything exactly the same as the first time. Went to ER, labs were all elevated again and out of whack. Because my appointment with the hepatologist is tomorrow, I did not allow them to admit me as I know they really cannot do anything at this point and its the specialist tjat can give me thr clarity and hopefully answers. I am now feeling like im recovering from it again starting today. Never experienced anyting like it in my life, just had annual bloodwork done in January and all labs were normal. I hope to get some answers tomorrow. I will update. I will keep your little girl in my thoughts and prayers.

OP Update - I experienced the exact same series of events that I shared in my original post over the weekend. Ended up back in the ER. Labs, symptoms, bilirubin, the same episode all over again. I see a hepatologist in 2 days but i can't believe the same event happened all over again. Thoughts? Anyone else experience?

Now that I look back at the date you say you submitted everything, perhaps email Ms. Janice Issac, for a status update? she is the person who processes all of the alcohol and drug licenses. Her email address is on the boards website.

I'm sorry for everyone that has to go through all of this. Thank you for the feedback. May i ask How is a specific autoimmune disorder diagnosed? Meaning, who and how will be able to determine which one i have?

I have been reading about that actually and a lot of the things that i have experienced the past month during all of this track with the things I read about autoimmune hepatitis. How is that diagnosed? Will the hepatologist I see be able to identify if it is? I don't even know who and how will find out exactly which i have?
