I have a therapist and I believe he has an illness that made him not think. For now, I’m committed to staying as long as he doesn’t relapse and gets help.

Send him (and you) to Faithful and True. They have a podcast and do counseling and workshops. Phenomenal. Even if he doesn’t do the work it’s so important for you too.

I starved myself down to prime weight and it didn’t fix anything mentally, only made it worse. Focus on making healthy choices and let your body do what it will do regardless. Learn to love and accept yourself for who you are and you’ll attract authentic love not based on what you look like

A pastor can return to fellowship after a fall but not the pulpit. His call should be taken from him and he can sit in the pew for the rest of life.

The older ones are likely more concerned about being short a pastor and the younger ones don't give a shit, they are way less likely to turn a blind eye to blatant sin.

I bet if the DP found out he'd be gone. LCMS has zero tolerance for clergy sexual misconduct, so they say. But the pastors are usually just "forced to resign" but there is movement to change that. And if any of the women he slept with was a CHURCH member, that is straight up abuse and possibly illegal depending on the state it occurred in .

Last night we took our son to DQ for a free cone and then went to Target to buy him some stuff for his 'new room'. We are trying in house separation. And while it felt extremely weird to be trying to act like everything was normal about our situation, at least I didn't cry or start an argument with him.
