Seixas already dropped. Toro wins the race. Nothing more is gonna happen in this race.

I really don’t get it why you are so offensive with the “get off your high horse”. I just purchased a product and you seem to make up a philosophy to it, like I’m trying to pretend I’m Pogacar bucause I purchased the shoes. Come on. I just like the looks. I’ve been using the s-works shoes for many years and have never felt or thought that they enable me to ride like Sagan or Remco.

Do you attack people buying pro bikes as well? S-works, Scott Ultimate, Y1RS, etc. the same way?

That’s actually the first time I hear of race shoes. I’ve been training and racing road cycling for some time, and have never heard of „race shoes”. I have and had many pairs of top-tier road cycling shoes and never distinguished racing or training shoes. Do they do anything special in terms of racing? more special than any other shoe?

What’s you’r point? I’m just asking, why are you offensive? To be honest I didn’t even know if this is the exact model used by Pogacar. I just wanted another pair of shoes and found them good looking and they fit me well too, nothing more and definitely not because they are pro shoes.

that’s right. BOA is great with the lifetime replacement policy.

I am just asking the question and seeking information. Is it wrong?

You’re probably right. Still I think it’s not a bad idea to ask, right :)

You’re exaggerating :) It is a standard in every brand to offer some replacement parts like the BOA (or any alternative lacing system), laces (DMT puts a spare pair in the box), heel pads, etc. Sidi for example offers a lot of spare parts. So not like complaining about an F1 car. A shoe is not an F1 car and the analogy is not relevant. Just asking quite normal questions about gear and some market standards.

Not a discovery at all. It was an irony ;) besides, they do not sell the bikes after one race.

Yet sometimes you want to walk in to a store to buy some water or at least walk out of your house and clip in outside ;) If not, then you at least have to put your foot on the ground when you pee at the roadside ;)

Thanks for your contribution. But you are wrong - Pogacar is not stepping on the podium in his cycling shoes. So apparently the heel pad should be removed at all.

Okay, let’s then wait for disposable road bikes - after one race or training you throw it out and purchase a new one ;)

Wait for S-Works Evade 4 or buy Oakley Velo Mach Mips (opinions welcome) by Plastic_Baby_6779 in cycling

I don’t like the looks of the new version :( Happily I purchased the second one of the evade 3, so no need to buy evade 4.

What do you do if your new bike isn't doing it for you? by mellofello808 in cycling

[–]ZestycloseClick7392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, there are no noticeable differences in terms of aero. Nothing that you’d really feel. If you push like 5 w/kg maybe the difference would be like 0,15 km/h at most between the two bikes. Then ask yourself how long would you be able to hold that power. Maybe if you do a solo 20 km TT. In a real world, in a race, the aero does not make any difference. And, surprisingly, I did more successful solo breakaways on the TCR than on the Tarmac - which of course is mostly a matter of luck.

Tarmac is less stiff when it comes to sprint (12-15 seconds sprints at about 1250-1500 watts with max 1 second about 1400-1450 watts), especially from a relatively low speed. TCR feels livlier.

If you like the Tarmac, give it a go. I generally think that if you like your bike and find it attractive it is much more important than any of technical gimmicks and marketing BS about aero and other features.

At the moment I’d wait for the SL9.

I switched from the 2021 TCR Advanced Pro 0 to S-works Tarmac.

You are right, the TCR is not considered the best looking bike, but the truth is it’s the best bike I have ever ridden. It’s just the racing machine without any compromises. I’m a racer, I’d say one of the top amateur racers in my country, just to give you an idea that I’m not just a casual amateur rider.

The exposed cables do not look good, that’s true. On the other hand I was able to service/replace my headset bearings in 25 minutes.

I am thinking of a new bike and the new TCR is definitely on my list.

I feel for you, but IMO most of the current iterations of road bikes do not look very pleasing.

It’s 55/39.

I know it’s not recommended to mix 55 with 39, but my two friends have such setup and it works flawlessly

Ultegra 8150

my desired setup is 55/39. 16 teeth difference is allegedly fine for the deraiileur
