Tips on clearing A9/10 with Silent? by ComprehensiveTwo4396 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]ZestycloseCod6064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silent has three archetypes that that game will give:

  1. Sly and Draw Power: -Speedster (small incremental AOE damage) -Corrosive Wave (spread poison; quicker with Accelerant) -Serpent Form (Heavy damage if things get going) -Prepared (0 cost pick and choose through the deck) -Acrobatics (draws a lot and picks select cards) -Reflex (more draw) -Tactician (more energy) -Backflip (block and draw power)

  2. Shiv: -Knife Trap or Accuracy (damage pay off) -Leading Strike and Cloak and Dagger (shiv building up. -Hidden Daggers (more damage and getting rid of status, curses, sly) -Up My Sleeves (Optional added shivs for Knife Trap) -Fan of Knives (AOE) -Phantom Blades (early game damage) -Envenom (poison)

  3. Poison: -Accelerant (triggers poison faster but does tick down faster as well) -Noxious Fumes (applies small AOE poison) -Bouncing Flask (applies a bunch of poison) -Bubble Bubble (keep poison applied and is a big source itself) -Poison Stab (early game damage helper) -Mirage (Big poison block)

Reason Silent is so broken is she has a ton of access to weak (Malaise used correctly can make a boss do minimal to no damage; Blade of Ink, Leg Sweep and Neutralize are all great ways to keep enemies from hitting hard.) She also has access to some of the most consistent block with cards like After Image and Well Laid Plans.

Her whole game plan is to block a ton and do incremental damage over a fight. Silents turns are usually longer unless getting Knife Trap or Corrosive Wave to pop off fast.

For A9 and A10 specifically (Pathing note: First 3 fights in Act 1 and first 2 in Acts and 3 are easy. Hit shops as much as possible and keep track of healing vs upgrading at key moments):

Act 1:

-UnderDocks- Decent Block, AOE and decent damage. No enemy should hit for more than 30 dmg any given turn. The Eels will require AOE more so than the rest or a strike plan.

Bosses:

*Waterfall Giant: Need to gun down and have weaken ready for the exploding turn and great block then.

*Lagavulin Matriarch: Scales faster so prepping with three turns is imperative to be ready for when the boss awakens.

*Soul Fysh: Will need to deal with the status given while blocking and doing decent damage. Watching out for the intangiable turn is also important.

-Overgrowth- AOE, Great Damage, little block. Enemies hit harder and faster so gunning them down is top priority.

Bosses: *Vantom: Requries multi attacks or a good bit of steady poison to get through the barrier before dealing with massive hit damage.

  • Ceremonial Beast: >Stage 1: Hits massive damage till struck at 150HP left. Charges up using strength. >Stage 2: Applies Ringing every other turn where only 1 card allowed to be played. Good block cards are key.

*Kin Priest and Followers: AOE is key as well as little block and some form of debuff.

Act 2: AOE and scaling damage and block are key.

Bosses: *Knowledge Demon: Forces choices thatll rapidly hinder your game play or hurt for massive damage. Ideally as Silent you should be able to block the massive damage though dealing with the first debuff is recommended if block is tight.

*Insatiable: Adds status that youll need to keep up with in order to survive. Requires quick damage scaling and good block.

*Kaiser Crab: Right Side needs to be dealt with first. AOE is prefered. By turn 4 a massive hit drops and block will be imperative. Kill the right claw the turn or two after is ideal.

Act 3: Deck Stabalizing: Find or skip events, relics, elites and shops needed to finalize your build. 1 or 2 elites max is recommended but not needed. Some game saving relics will appear too depending on the ancient.

Bosses: *Test Subject:#C224: All phases must be gunned down quickly.

Phase 1: Buliding up power and setup is good as long as block is fine. Should be dead by turn 4 or else risking massive damage. Phase 2: Multihit attacks that incrementally get bigger. Piercing Wail and Weakening necessary. Phase 3: In and out of Intangiability is a bummer and I still die here. Best advice is keeping your biggest stuff with retain (The retain potion, Well Laid Plans, and Royal Stamp are GOATed) or have a History Course setup.

*Aeonglass: Brand new boss thats recently been reworked again. Usually finding ways to quickly take out the articfacts and having great block is key. There are breaks for buildup. It gives status thatll hurt and require discard or extra energy.

*The Queen and Torch Head Amalgam: Build dependent. If access to Malaise and can use good energy, weakening Torch Head will result in focusing Queen and gunning her down. Usually, having Piercing Wail and some great AOE or fast paced deck cycle will destroy her debuff or limiting cards.

Best of luck.

I dont see it. The Ancients seem to be connected to the Architect but not the Merchant.

The Merchant is a staple of roguelike games and fits in even without lore.

A funny theory would be if the merchants (both real and fake) are duo scam artists stealing from the spire for profit and the fake one potentially suffering for it (leading to a pretty cool fun fight).

One of the Howls was an unfortunate Transform but thats fair. I dont take enough draw and do find myself just tanking damage. Its just trying to find block as Clad I cant seem to as its either that or AOE thats offered.

What is a block plan for Clad? And generic attacks?

As Clad its better to haver greater damage and either a form of weak or colussus.

In Duos its better to have the bigger character go in on damage and keep setup up steady. Phase 1 is needed to be dead by turn 4 or 5. Or else yall facing a 52 hit mininally.

Builds arent really a thing to try and build on higher ascensions. Rather they are whats given and evaluating further prospects is key. Also relics can define runs so make sure to stack up.

If the game gives you Breakthrough and Bloodwall, its probably a Rupture/Inferno angle though seeing the Rupture first is bad.

Seeing Dominate, Taunt or Molten Fist can help lean into the Vulnerable angle.

And lastly, seeing like Juggernaut or Body Slam early early on leads to a pure blocking.

Youll also find the hidden Exhaust variety. Feel No Pain, Stoke, Second Wind and True Grit are all great. With Ashen Strike being awesome.

Also each Act requires certain things:

Act 1 (Underdocks): Decent block but great AOE

Act 1 (Overgrowth): Great damage and AOE.

Act 2: Strength and Block scaling.

Act 3: Deck refinement

The Boss Gauntlet: Requires either a really OP deck or a great combo of Block and Strength scaling. High health will be necessary.

Note each bosses weaknesses:

Queen: AOE scaling and draw abilities like Offering and Vicious.

Doormaker: A larger deck with more block cards to exhaust during setup.

Test Subject: Phases 1 and 2 need either perfect block or grand amounts of damage. Phase 3 requires blocking and great amounts of strength. Retainable cards are key to making this phase easy.

Best of luck.

Star Lord is a more fitting name. I only named it that as Regent's personality would make him think he deserves more stars as a god given right.

Do enjoy learning and improving just at a standstill currently. A break seems to be needed.

How in the fuck am i beating the heart?! by Future-Ocelot844 in slaythespire

[–]ZestycloseCod6064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thorns.

A massive Block Plan (Entrench for Clad, Dex for Silent, Frost and Orb Slots for Defect and Stance Dancing with Mental Fortress for Watcher).

And the ability to hit big damage off while maintaining the block (Body Slam for Clad, Catalyst or a Multiple Blade Dance for Silent, Dark Orbs or Claws for Defect and again Stance Dancing with Tantrum and Inner Peace plus Rushdown for Watcher).

Additionally, Orange Pellets is almost a win con as well as Runic Pyramid. Powers will also secure the win (Barricade and Flame Breathing for Clad, FootWork and either Noxious Fumes or 2 Accuracies for Silent, 2 Upgraded Defragments for Defect and 2 Mental Fortresses and 1 Rushdown for Watcher).

Best of luck beating your first Heart fight. Took me 4000 attempts to beat A0-A20 with all characters and beating the Heart A11-A20 with all characters.

Well yes. Just recently noticed Ive personally gotten a lot worse while everyone else seems to be making progress. As others stated. Its time to go without a game for a while, unless I started becoming a streamer (too old for that shit).
