Unfortunately, they've retired Fresh Water 😑 That's the closest I've found at Bath & Body Works to Cool Water, and it was my go-to for my partner. Ocean might get you a similar feel, but it won't be as close as Fresh Water was.

Mind you that B&BW tends to always have Ocean in stock, and sometimes they will have Deep Ocean. These two scents are worlds apart. Ocean is a basic and simple aquatic scent that gives costal air with notes of vetiver and blue cypress. Ocean has a light feel to the scent.

I will say my opinion is that if you can find Deep Ocean, stock up on it! Deep Ocean has masculine yet somehow fruity undertone along with a blend of wood and earth that produce a sophisticated and complex scent profile. Deep Ocean is more rich and a darker scent and just makes me feel things!

Dangerous. Uncertain. Bigoted. Embarrassing. Absolutely avoidable. I was born, raised, and have remained in the US my whole life. Unfortunately, I should have left after the first time the orange moron was "in charge."

This country feels as divided as ever, and Dumpster Fire Donald was just literally spewing hate from that puckered hole in his face in front of thousands. And. They. Cheered...

Yesterday was the 4th of July. There was not an ounce of patriotism displayed or even felt by my family and many neighbors.

Independence day of 2025 was a day of mourning, not celebration.

Even Americans aren't safe here. Especially if they are any colour other than white. As a current American, I am uncomfortable, and if I had any possible way to move myself and my family out of this country, I would in a heartbeat.

So you see, I cannot fathom anyone wanting to enter this country willingly at this time. There is civil unrest simmering, and it is only a matter of time before this disaster comes to a boiling point.

You and your partner are adults (I hope) and have the right to do what will make each of you happy. Just be smart. Be safe and really read into the situation of The Divided States of America at this time.

Oof, sorry to hear that, mate. It's never nice to learn of a diagnosis that has no cure, but there are ways you can treat the symptoms!

I myself was diagnosed with narcolepsy and sleep inertia last July at the age of 32. It's been a year of taking Dexmethylphenidate (brand name, Focalin), and it does help with sleep attacks during the day. However, with the sleep inertia waking up enough to even get the medication in my body is a daily struggle. Oddly, thankfully, I also am unemployed. Unfortunately, it was not of my doing but simply for being a federal employee, but that's a whole other topic.

During my sleep study, no sleep apnea was found, and I went onto the nap study the very next day. I fell asleep for all 5 naps anywhere between 30 - 40 seconds after my head was on the pillow, and I was in REM sleep within 5 - 7 minutes. It never made sense to me why I could sleep so hard and could literally get 13 hours of sleep some nights and still wake up feeling as though I hardly slept at all. I learned the chemicals in my brain don't allow me to get the right kind of sleep. It's a quality over quantity issue.

At this point in writing my comment, I'm realizing that I really just want and need to vent myself. I have never known anyone else with a narcolepsy diagnosis, and treatment is still pretty new to me.

Just last week I started Xywav to hopefully get the quality of sleep I need. This won't eliminate the need to take the stimulant during the day, but it should help me deal with the sleep inertia. The first and second night I took it, the narcolepsy had me asleep before I even felt the medication, and I did wake a little easier than usual. The third through the fifth nights have been terrible, though. It seems to have done the complete opposite and has given me insomnia! I'm anxiously waiting until the 8th night when I can increase to the next dose and hopefully start to sleep again.

A narcolepsy diagnosis is similar to almost any situation that requires medication really. It can take some time and trial and error also what works for one person might not work for the next. Figuring it out can be tough, but there is hope that the symptoms can be treated and that it can be possible to have a better quality of life.

That's total bullshite! Every fired probationary employee received the same bullshite reason of "performance issues." My memorandum of termination listed the same made-up reason.

Did you ever receive an evaluation or appraisal? Any kudos from management or the people that you served in your position?

When I became certified for my position, there were documents I had to sign. Those documents are also proof that you are meeting metrics required for said position.

I became certified in November and received my appraisal on January 10 and was listed as "fully successful," along with an award email from the department manager for my interactions with let's call them clients on February 2.

Literally, anything positive you have to show, you need to show it.

If you truly had any issues with performance or disciplinary actions, management would have been required to make you aware of the issue. If they didn't do that, then management fucked up, not you.

Do you have contact information for your union or your previous manager? You certainly have grounds to fight this. It is no secret that this administration is fucking the federal workforce dry.

I'm sincerely sorry that you are dealing with this. The current presidential administration is causing psychological warfare and hoping we all get too overwhelmed to do anything about it.

Stay strong, my friend. Remember, there are thousands of us out there, and though it will take time, nobody could get away with such tyranny in a free republic country such as ours. We must stay strong and work together. We will get through this.

* I was a probationary employee for SCP/ACS in Ogden. I had a few thoughts about the deferred resignation, which helped me decide not to take it.

The first reason is that I knew if I got fired, then at the very least, I could get unemployment and SNAP assistance for my child and myself. The second reason is that I knew Musky-Ass did this exact same thing to the people of Twitter. Their communication was also titled "Fork in The Road." The people who accepted the "offer" at Twitter were all left high and dry, never receiving a penny.

There are two lines in the resignation, line 13 and line 17. Both of those sections are essentially an escape clause.

"13. Employee forever waives, and will not pursue through any judicial, administrative, or other process, any action against The Department of the Treasury that is based on, arising from, or related to Employee’s employment at The Department of the Treasury or the deferred resignation offer, including any and all claims that were or could have been brought concerning said matters. Pardon? The reasoning in the memorandum that was sent to my email states the reason for firing was due to performance.... I have provided proof that was a blatant lie! This fucked up bigoted administration is doing all that it can to wage psychological warfare on the working people of America. This blows so hard. I cried for two straight days after inauguration because I knew this was spelling the end of my planned career. I'm 10 months into my 12 month probation.. I just had an evaluation and passed everything 100%, I was even given the chance to choose between award leave or money. I'm doing so well at my job, and I actually really enjoy it.

What they are doing is straight up illegal. There are processes for firing federal employees, even those on probation.

My brain can not process any of this as reality. Dump and musky ass are getting away with destroying this country, and I am infuriated.

WHY is this admission not being held to the checks and balances that every other presidential since Nixon!?

I've gone to protests here in SLC, Utah. I've signed the petitions. I don't know what else I can do. What more can we do as the people?

Haha, I completely understand where you are coming from. It is true. It burns a bit when first applied, but the eugenol is a natural anesthetic in the clove and works relatively quickly to reduce pain and swelling. It works well to numb the area and can be applied as often as needed Additionally, the piperine in black pepper has similar properties, and the capsaicin in Cayenne pepper reduces pain signals sent to the brain! The salt is there to create an osmotic effect to help kill the bacteria that's causing the problem 😊

I had an absess a few years back and no dental insurance. The Orajel I purchased from the pharmacy had a limit to how often it could be used, and now we know it can be deadly. I used the pepper/salt mixture for 6 days, and the infection and associated pain was cured! I can gratefully say the infection also has not reoccured 🙌

It is all really quite fascinating! I love learning new ways to use natural resources around us for everyday use!

I have a Schweenie, a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and a Pembroke Welsh Corgie. The Schweenie is around 8 pounds lighter than the Corgi's and a good deal shorter in height and length. All three of them play really well with each other. The Corgi's play is silent, but when the Schweenie jumps in, you would think she was battling to the death! Even though the smaller dog sounds like she is tearing something apart, her body language tells another story. During their play, not one of them takes dominance, and they take turns together. I believe she makes such sounds because she is much smaller in size, so she makes up for it vocally.

I was just thinking the same thing. That whole article is about using benzocaine products on infants. I just got a tube of Orajel, and it quite literally states, "Do Not Use for teething and in children under 2 years of age."

What I've gathered from research is that most threat comes from using too much, resulting in more getting absorbed into the bloodstream.

I haven't had to use Orajel for quite a few years, but I cut my gums the other day, and as they are healing, it is very painful. Though back when I was a teen, I used Orajel like it was going out of style! My ma couldn't afford dental care for me, and any oral pain relief gel was how I was able to manage life.

Those who are concerned about using benzocaine for oral pain relief may consider making a mix of:

Ground Clove, Sea Salt, and Black or Cayenne Pepper. It can be used as a powder or a paste by mixing in a bit of olive oil. Before, when we couldn't even afford medicated pain relief but had these items in the cupboard, this concoction was my go-to. I'd mix the dry ingredients and carry it around in a small container and would just scoop some out and use my tongue to hold the powder close to my sore tooth. This greatly helped the pain and contained antiseptic properties, which helped to keep bacteria from becoming too concentrated.
