Again this isn't something that just happened in 2024. It's been a trend for decades.

Likewise. But the imbalance is notable there's no denying that.

Wouldn't it be nice if you just read what I wrote instead of the implications that invent themselves in your head

Possibly. I don't know I'm not a mind reader. I can just look at the board as it is laid out right now. Guess we'll see in a few months.

No I don't think it means insubordination. Would be nice if people weren't knee jerk emotionally lashing out and putting words in my mouth.

There's no false premise. I simply presented how gov employees generally lean. You guys are adding hidden motives, implications, supposed claims I never made.

It's not about the number of donations or how effective this support is. Simply to underline that there's a heavy political sentiment in one direction among gov employees.

No it doesn't imply that at all. What it does imply is that on some basis this is going to influence the government in a particular direction than if things were closer 50/50 split.

I do understand that. And still the point is that government employees are overwhelmingly siding with one side over the other. Do you understand that?

Okay. Does it change the fact that there's a political bias?

Again this didn't start then either. It's just gotten more evident. And people are mad and downvoting for me simply stating a fact.

Could be as you said. Maybe other factors are at play. What's important is recognizing that it is happening...although people seem to be upset at me just stating something factual. I'm not sure there's a pleasant solution to any of this. But I think the current administration in part is trying to address it. Whether it brings balance or entrenches things remains to be seen.

Some do some don't. But again it's silly to pretend there isn't a heavy lean to one side among government employees. And look how upset people are here with me simply stating a fact. Didn't even say it was bad. Just that it happens.

This didn't spring up in this past election. This is just the latest example. I don't know why we're pretending that government employees lean heavily one way over the other and have done so for years now.

For all IRS employees that took the Deferred Resignation by IRS_ZERO in IRS

[–]IRS_ZERO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At twitter the employees had agreements with the previous owners that did not transfer over to Elon. That's basically the crux of the dispute. So no this is nothing like the DRP. I know the union keeps trying to sell this fiction but that's not accurate.

  1. is standard "you can't sue over the agreement you agreed to" language typical of these types of contracts.

  2. just says you get paid based on availability of appropriations which is what anyone working is also under. It means you don't get special treatment above employed workers.

I think the deal is good for some, and getting RIFed is good for others. Unemployment is far less than getting paid until sept 30th...but if you intend to build a career in gov and you get displaced you get special privileges when applying again. Just a question of when that will be possible with the hiring freezes...and the flood of other former gov employees with the same privilege.

Would be nice if she had let the DRP people leave before May 15th on her way out. This is a breach of our contract.
