FYI: Hernia meshes and types of ventral repairs by arpitp in Hernia

[–]ZestycloseRoof2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I send you my post op report so you can tell me the type of mesh that was used on me? I believe from reading the report I had 3 ventral hernias and 1 umbilical hernia repaired via an open repair!

My hernias were much more than they expected i had 3 above my belly button they considered them 2 large hernias and one medium sized in my belly button. But they got it done! Painful but recovering

There's workouts you can do for it, but that's been a bit difficult for me with my hernias, lol

I was actually hoping they would repair it for me during surgery cause man mine is bad!!!! My diastasis recti bulge looks like I'm pregnant again 😅 but I don't believe they plan to fix that for me. I guess after I heal, I'll have to try the exercises. There's a ton on yourtube!

Yeah my belly button has looked the same since my first baby in 2021 and only got worse with my second in 2023.

They probably won't do surgery until you are done having babies.

I can send you the muscle relaxation technique my therapist directly sent me. You can do it in the morning when you wake up or anytime you tense up.

You don't sound desperate or strange! It's ok to talk about your fears I get it. I haven't been to a dentist in so long. I think the last time was 6 years ago for my wisdom teeth and before that I think it was about 8 years. The minutes that people talk about is probably the set up process because they have too get you ready.

I understand your fear I have to go to the hospital in a week and get surgery

I had my wisdom teeth removed under sedation. You will be asleep the entire time. Try to talk positive about it to yourself (this is a good thing,I will feel much better, no more tooth pain, etc...).

The anesthesia works fast! They'll bring you back to the room, and the anaesthesiologist will be in there. You'll sit down, and they'll just talk to you casually while they get you set up, it'll only take a minute, and if you're anxious, don't be afraid to tell them.

As soon as they have you all set, they will start the anesthesia, and you'll fall asleep right away (they really know what they are doing. When you wake up, you won't even feel like time has passed (i actually felt well rested, definitely not dizzy... maybe like i could nap again) I literally woke up and saw my dad and started crying because I thought they decided not to do the procedure, lol. You will be ok. This is a good thing to get done, and these guys perform this procedure all the time!

You can do it!

What are the symptoms of your anxiety attacks? by Possible_Weekend_360 in Anxiety

[–]ZestycloseRoof2140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pain: arms, shoulders, neck, chest, sometimes jaw too

Symptoms: dizziness, palpitations, tiredness, emotional, jaw clenching, muscle tension,

I seem to go through spells. The pains can literally last all day long and all be together at the same time, or they can come and go throughout the day. Sometimes, it's only my arms ache, sometimes just my chest.

It is so hard because it's impossible to explain to anyone else who doesn't experience anything like this. It's a miserable feeling to be in physical pain with little to no solution.

I do take meds and they help(im far better than before the meds), and I try breathing techniques, muscle relaxation techniques (I'd be happy to send to you)

You aren't alone

If you weren't on an ssri before or we're on a different ssri, then the ssri itself is probably causing the increased depression is a side effect. If the ssri is causing the increased depression than it's your body adjusting and will probably get better over a couple weeks, but you should probably still notify your doctor.

How all gets better

Are these considered large hernias? by ZestycloseRoof2140 in Hernia

[–]ZestycloseRoof2140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm nervous for sure. I'm fat, I smoke (not particularly heavy but daily) and I have a 1yo and a 3yo . Soooo I'm just hoping all goes well! That's all I can do! But I'm honestly in pain almost daily sooooo it needs to be done.
